This thread should just be titled "Come in here and post MK9 for likes" because that's the obvious answer.

It had every single fan favorite in the series. Don't come in here talking about Ashrah or Havik because those aren't fan favorites. There's like 13 people on the planet that care about them.

The MK9 roster was perfect and untouchable.

MK9 and Armageddon.
MKA had the biggest roster so there's that.
MK9 is simply objectively the best because of how safe it was. You absolutely can't go wrong by choosing characters everyone likes already. Fan favorites are ALWAYS gonna be safer and more popular as a roster than new characters, because even if 3/4 of the new characters are awesome there's always gonna be garbage in the middle, that's just how making new characters works. Especially if the majority of your community grew up with the classic games, even if some characters happen to suck absolute ass people will still love them because nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

MK9 was essentially a pure fan-service roster (not that there's anything wrong with that), so I think it's the undisputed champ.

That being said, MK11 is a close second imo. If we didn't have every single Cage or Briggs in the game, it'd be better lol.
