What's new

UPDATE: Kombat Kast #8 — Friday April 12, 3:00 PM CST — D’Vorah, Kitana, and Cetrion

One thing I seriously dislike is them giving so many characters a teleport.
Agree, it's like they made the game in such a way that characters need a teleport to be viable. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Will the characters without teleports be 2nd class to those with them?

Kitana. thank goodness. and D'vorah kills Jerrod?!.....it sounds like Kelly Hu is back as voice actress? and that stage with bugs and such growing.....UGH GROSS. and Kitana's Fatality....ouch. it appears Mileena is out of action this time. Sad Mileena is gone but now Kitana is not "mournful". She is more like "Pre-Emptive Strike" or her revenant self wanted to take Mileena out first so borrowed her sai and moves, so now she wants D'Vorah gone even more. LOVE IT!

It's a fair concern, however i think the characters without teleports will be just fine. Jax springs to mind: No teleports, but crazy good rushdown ability, corner carry and command grabs. Sub zero has no teleport but his slide will give him the mobility he needs.

Plus, it's worth remembering that most teleport attacks are very unsafe on block and more often than not, baitable.

Cetrion's wind moves look really annoying. The twister move looks difficult to jump at the best of times and the amplified version seems to reach the top of the screen, meaning you will need to block it and move back at least a backdash worth of space. Combine that with the windstorm trap, and you should get real comfortable with being full screen. At least the windstorm uses the full defense bar so she can only do it a few times per fight.

This is just my personal pref, but I'm not a fan of "zoner who has a huge push back on block" design. Clearly NRS really enjoys it because they did it with Deadshot, Darkseid, and a few others, but to me it just makes matches such a slog. Even if you know how to deal with it and win it just feels so sluggish it's hard to find the fun.

Well, I enjoyed Jade in the beta, so keeping a pocket-Jade and her glorious glow might not be the worst idea :p

I want to Kano Ball into that Wind Storm movement debuff just to see what happens, lol. My main will just laugh at it and teleport when I see an opening though.
