Throw cancels

Throw cancels are supposed to be able to extend combos beyond an opponents health bar in the final round now right? I can't seem to get it to work maybe I misunderstood.

You have to do the combo very quick or, the finish him starts.

No, they only work when your oponent already lost his healthbar, it's supposed to be used to set-up brutalities.

Specifically I'm playing as Reptile against Cassie. Offline. Trying to finish her health bar in the final round with a combo and then cancel that same killing combo with a throw cancel into an additional combo.

I have tried going for throw mb and the follow up string never connects/combos.
