but jesus 2 people declaring they distancing themselves from swampy within hour of eachother in a combo thread, were going to be inj1 bane/flash in a few months by the looks of it haha

on the designed thing, i thought it bit of red flag that guy was showing him was like "ok guys swamp thing is build around side switching" was like thats his "gimmick" something 99% of character in any fighting game can do. sounds broke :/

im not a comic book guy but swamp thing is only dc char i actually have affection for so im not going anywhere anytime soon :)
'Built around side switching'? I read that and think ambiguous left/right mix ups, but I've not seen anything that suggests he plays like that. Did they just mean that you can back yourself into a corner and use meter burn vine grab to escape and do it again?

yep just has different ways to switch sides in combos with green thumb and mb vine or with the please full combo me f21

I really hope NRS patches swamp to make the combo windows larger for his bnbs. It feels like a one frame link and it is extremely discouraging
I've taken him into practice several times and I agree. Just trying to connect B+2,2,3 into F+2,3 is absolute nightmare. You should be rewarded for getting in with this character. You finally get close enough to Supergirl to combo her and it drops every time.

It's way too slow. Even on a read some zoners recover fast enough to block. It's stupid.

MB db3 needs to just hold the opponent in place as long as Super Girl's freeze holds that way on trades he can gain some ground. Hell I'd love it if NRS got rid of the stupid hit afterward and just let you essentially restand the opponent with that move. The clone would just hold the opponent allowing a free hit like b3. That'd help his combo potential immensely.
It would be nice to have something characters twice as fast as him, who hit much harder have...
 
Swamp Thing needs some help. Hopefully whenever the new patch drops he will get it. F23, f233 may just need less recovery frames on hit to help him combo better for his meterless stuff. I found it odd he cannot meter burn B3 from F23. It just won't connect.

i might be drunk but that last combo doesnt do 392 damage for me. i don't think you have the competitive mode on. Its doing 353. and with jump 2, 370's.

just a few combos i came up with while messing with swamp thang. I seen there were bigger meterless ones out there already, but just wanted to add these because i didn't see them uploaded on here already. Sorry about the quality, i am currently in china and just have my phone and ps4 to work with.

I haven't seen this yet but here's a super combo we'll never be able to hit. Swag points I guess. B3, JI3, F2xxSuper. Like everything else it's a bitch to hit. Did 494.7 damage.

WAY easier version is B3, JI3, 11xxSuper. Does 481.92 damage.

Now about landing that B3... Lol. Only 35 frame start up, it's practically unblockable, lol. Also not like we'll be using all our meter for damage and clashes or anything. But it's the thought that counts!

Also, I'm digging the B2, 3... combo string. That little mind game with the low and the log kick and the overhead is cool. Too bad there's a giant fuck-off gap if you go for the overhead and the log is -14 on block. The only dirt that's reliable (short of) is restanding with the Clone (+15), or being +1 after the Spiked Palm grab in the corner if you can throw them again. Damn thus guy is difficult!

Better idea for two meters. B2 2 3xMBB3, JI3, 1 1xxClose Vine Grab. 439.45 damage. That is actually viable. And by that I mean that one is actually EASY TO HIT.

@LEGI0N47 has a better version of this. It's a bit more difficult but fucking light years easier than most of Swamp Donkey's stuff. It's on page 1, but here's the combo.

I think ST has a RESET POTENTIAL with the biofission (DB3), you can combo it from nearly every string midcreen and then you have your opponent close to you , stand and with +16 frames advantage, for the B12 (low string), B3 (low) ,throw, grab.....
A lot of string on hit can be backdashed or jumped out of before db3 combos out only true strings are 21. B22

Does button release check make these combos easier? I don't know does the negative edge effect only apply to special moves or also apply to normal moves. If so, we may have to take the risk of leaving it on when playing this character.
 
Hadn't yet been done, so here we are.

I will try to keep this as up to date as possible, although if someone else would like to do the honors you're more than welcome. I am by no means an expert and I'm sure there are better alternatives to what I've found.

NOTE: Many of these combos enders are interchangeable, DF2, 3 can be replaced with DB3, 113 in many places for about 1-2%. The gravity starts to take effect after the DB3, so online the execution might be a little tight. Your choice.
