The Green Will Humble You - Swamp Thing Combo Thread

Bad Genez

Green
Hadn't yet been done, so here we are.

I will try to keep this as up to date as possible, although if someone else would like to do the honors you're more than welcome. I am by no means an expert and I'm sure there are better alternatives to what I've found.

NOTE: Many of these combos enders are interchangeable, DF2, 3 can be replaced with DB3, 113 in many places for about 1-2%. The gravity starts to take effect after the DB3, so online the execution might be a little tight. Your choice.

Here are a few other combos that yield good damage and easy to get to

Meterless
F233, F23xx DB3, 11xxDF1b (F2 has to be standing next to them on hit not max range)

Meter
F23xx EX BF3, F23xx DB3, 11xx DF1 (can use any starter to xx EX BF3)
D1xx EX DB2, D2xx DB3, 11xx DF1

*If you have trait up before any of these combos you can go to D1xx DF2+2 to reset them into your garden and get control or tick throws.

Corner Meterless
F233, D2xx DB3, 11xx DF1b

The D1 combo you can:
D1xxEXDB2,F23xxDF1B for more dmg ..is 312 versus 300 of yours and also its a lot easier

Also I´ve notice that a late J3 can combo with the Green hand for J3xxDF23 ...271dmg

green thumb gives you more options for less damage. You can heal if need be, you can choose where to put them, and you will be better positioned for the next initiative.

Oh, I completely agree! Just saying, if you're sometimes looking for maximum damage you can go for mb up vine grab for a good 50 extra damage

Don´t agree
I like vine grab and not for the damage.... it gives you the distance where you have tools and the opponent don´t. From the vinegrab you have a HDK and can continue pressure with DB1 low proyectile or another vine grab, or the amazing D3. Also you can do your long range strings F23-.... and your opp. (except scarecrow and a few more) only can block them. If they try to avoid the vine grab or the strings jumping, well, you have some of the best AA of the game... the standing 1 for a full combo or the up-vinegrab. So,I repeat, ST´s favourite distance is mid-distance,the distance of a vine grab. And the damage is HUGE.

Hat tier ftw
1 Meter
B223 BF3 EX, F23 DB 3, D2 DF2.
D2 seems to be the only thing to connect DF2 cause of the extra juggle for the starter. I think its max damage for B223 1 bar ending in Green Thumb

1 Meter corner
B223 DB2 EX, Jump 2, 11 DF2

Tks ^
Messing around with trait into back throw and it seems to get them to land in the trait better than any command throw. Only setup i got is B223 trait walk up back throw lands them right on the trait. Maybe D2 trait can work...

After a string-DB3 stand reset you can go for 2 low combos :
B12(or D3)-DF3MB-F23-DB3-11-DF1B 380 dmg (354 with D3)

Another combo found (no meter, midscreen, ambiguous crossup)
J3(late)-11-DF1B 318 dmg

It's a little tough finding time to get on here and keep it updated every day, much less get on and find all these, but I'll do my best. Regardless, updated with provided info.

I get it pretty consistently now lol but it's pretty tricky,I use the visual cue of him putting his club away and input it immediately
I find it unnecessarily difficult to pull off yet it seems fairly critical as it gets almost as much damage without having to spend any bar.

Sadly that visual cue trick don't work for me as its still inputting much to early. I feel like you only have 1-2 frames to correctly input it and its kinda putting me off of the character :(

I like to play bad characters
Been playing around with Swamp Thing. These are on Superman with competitive on.

Focused mainly on bounce cancel combos since I wanted to see what kind of damage I could get since I thought his usual BnB's where kinda meh. These of course give solid damage off a raw MB B/F3 as well which while slow AF have quite the range.

B223, BBMB, j2, B232xxDF1B-422. DF2,3 gave 413
B232, BBMB, j2, B232xxDF1B-439 DF2,3 gave 428
B232, FFMB, F23xxDB3,11xxDF1B-467 DF2,3 440
21, BBMB, j2, F23xxDB3,11,DF1B-480 with FFMB damge was 468 since I omitted the j2.

Depending on your starter these can also produce pretty much the only beefy unclashable damge that I know of with him thus far outside of a raw one which I doubt will catch many people unarmored.

Also I found that if you prefer to end in DF2's that I needed to D1xxDF2 at the end if I went with the F23xxDB3, extender. Damage was 2-3% less with the 3 ender.

Haven't seen anyone mention it so far, but you can actually hit a B3 after B2,2,3 into EX B3. I think this is probably optimal damage if it is reliable. I couldn't hit it consistently at all, but maybe someone better than me can.
