Sub-Zero & Scorpion (MK3 series) vs. MK4

Hello, I'm new here and I knew that since so far this seem to be the only MK related site that actually responses to old MK game topics I figured I'd ask this question here. Out of the MK games in the 90's the two games were Sub-Zero was considered to be God Tier was MK3 & MK4, And with Scorpion it was MKT-N64 & MK4.

So the question is if Two players with the higest level of play were to play...

P1: MK3 Sub-Zero (With all the game mechanics that he had from that game)
__________
vs.
__________
P2: MK4 Sub-Zero (With all the game mechanics that he had from that game except side step and picking up weapons from the floor and only has access to his Club weapon on him so the fight is on a 2d plane)

Which Sub-Zero would succeed? The same scenario for Scorpion with P1 = MKT-N64 & P2 = MK4?

I know this is a very weird thing to think about but if someone could come up with an answer that would be awsome !

The MK3 version of subzero wins that battle easily. Ridiculous ice containment plus the Clone that when you jump in will freeze the opponent just about no matter what. Crazy combo potential.

Scorpion wasn't god tier in trilogy, he was pretty good because he got the added forward teleport punch, significantly improved over ultimate, but not God like. Mk4 scorpion wins easily here

I see thanks, I guess MK4 Sub-Zero isn't as bad as MK3 Sub.

I though it would be an interesting battle just cause of what I've read about Sub from here and what MMK Hanzo said -http://testyourmight.com/threads/mk4-tier-list.18425/

Would MK3 still beat MK4 sub with weapon out? I also heard MK4 ice clones were crazy too, Maybe not as crazy as MK3's but I though maybe enough to compete?

Also Yeah Scorp wasn't God Tier but he was ranked top 5 in MKT-N64 or top 10 at least, My mistake

Well, you said MK3 sub zero. That's the unmasked version with the broken ridiculous ice clone. It got nerfed a bit for umk3 and mkt, which dropped him down the tier list quite a bit. MKT N64 super sub zero is nearly God like because he has all the moves of both sub zeros.
Classic subzero in ultimate unfortunately is pretty bottom of the barrel, and one pretty much has to be a character specialist to be successful with him. Significantly longer start up time on his ice ball compared to unmasked sub really cripples him, as does the start up time on his ice puddle.

Ok . . . .. . . so . . . . . MK4 Sub with weapon out vs. MK3 Sub makes no difference. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm asking you the same question over and over, But it seems that in the last post you just told me the difference between the Sub-Zero's from the MK3 series, Thanks again! :D

I'll try to run it down for you…
MK3 unmasked sub zero: godlike. crazy ice clone properties.
UMK3 unmasked subzero: Low mid tier. Ice clone Nerfed
UMK3 classic subzero: half done shadow of what he should have been. Longer start up on ice ball, ice puddle that causes weird cool downs with ice puddle and I think even ice ball.
N64 Super sub zero: has the ice clone, ice puddle, ice ball, and all three ice showers. Basically both subs rolled into one, with the classic sub combo strings.

All right so MK3 > MK4 I guess thanks, I would also guess that if MK3 vs. MKT-N64 were ever to happen MK3 would win based off ice clone properties?

I would think so, but it would be pretty interesting watching unmasked versus n64 super sub
