Street Fighter V Wishlist (Characters & Stories)

If there will be a Street Fighter V, what story shall it take place? Before 3 like with 4 or after 3?

Cause those who appeared in 4:

Which of the old Street Fighter characters would you bring back besides just Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li & Akuma?

And what new characters can you think of to join the next game? There are a lot of fighting styles that have not appeared in the series yet.

I feel like Capcom KNOWS how popular Alex is, and will likely use his inclusion as a selling point for SF5.

I'd like to see Dan return, because he's my favourite character, but I also want to see Sean.

It would be awesome if they focused on his more unique elements like his tackle, wheel kick, etc. His Dragon Smash could look like the 3rd strike version, but have the follow-up punch from 2nd impact. Hopefully his tornado kick won't be negative on hit anymore...

Since Akuma became Oni, would he be featured as just Oni in the official fifth game (Whenever it eventually gets released)?

There was a video of Mike Z talking about certain things that constituted good and bad fighting game design, and ironically a lot applied to Street Fighter that could be improved:

1) Get rid of double quarter circle forward motions. There is no reason for them to exist.
2) Get rid of any motion more complicated than the dragon punch motion. There is no reason for them to exist.
3) "If your game will be broken when people figure out how to do something, it's broken whether they know it at that point or not", basically, remove dumb execution requirements for the sake of balance, and include a training mode with all the tools to help players perfect their play.
4) Get rid of stun/dizzy. The penalty for getting hit should be the damage for that hit and any combo followup. To penalize someone for getting hit by allowing them to automatically get hit more does as much for good balance as killstreaks do in CoD. It's a reward on top of a reward and a penalty on top of a penalty.

And my suggestion:

No more than 4 Shoto characters. Ryu, Ken, Dan, Oni, Akuma, Evil Ryu, Gouken, and Sakura…. That's just boring… And I'm not even counting border-line shoto's like Seth and Sagat…

Anybody got a wishlist for Street Fighter V? Story? Characters?
Knowing Capcom it will take excessively long

Look how long it took to go from 2 to 3, and then eventually 4.....

Street fighter 4, 4 arcade edition, 4 Ultra...

Holding out for version 5 will mean 10 years or so at this rate or progression

Would love to see this as in the future from 3rd Strike where Ryu is now an amalgamation of Gouken and Oro and possibly the last boss of the game. Or taking a role simular to Sagat in Sf I where a totally new and young character attempts to test his skill against Ryu thus starting the cycle again.

Ryu being a end boss would be nice, and makes perfect sense based on your angle. If I remember correctly, Sakura was aspiring to over come Ryu and in Street Figher 3 Sean was Ken's subordinate. Maybe generate a oldver version rivalry amongst those two characters ?

- What about Evil Ryus position in your angle ?

Sooo many times this! This is what turned me off SF in the first place. Playing fighting games is frustrating enough without having to fight your own controls every step of the way.

I think the story of Street Fighter has always been lackluster. It also doesn't help that there really doesn't appear to be a "canon" storyline other than Ryu wins harder than John Cena. Every time Capcom brings SF to a new medium, it's never the same story twice. Which I think is a shame because they did do a good job of making half decent characters with somewhat interesting backgrounds and relationships with the other fighters. Now compare that to Mortal Kombat. NRS took a bunch of palette swaps and not only made interesting characters out of them, but built an entire thriving world for them to live in. And look at the difference in communities. I mean, both games have their die-hard fans but when I talk to Capcom players about SF I don't feel the same love that I do when I talk to MK players.

I'd like to see a few of the jokes go away, not necessarily the characters, but a few less jokes would be nice. Dan is the man and Elena is cute and fun, I can get used to Sakura but things like Poison's wrestling gimmick and the obvious anti-Russian hate has got to go. Poison is a street fighter (no pun intended) NOT a wrestler. I can see the whole "wanting to be a star" thing as part of her character and an inside joke from Capcom about her going from an NPC to a playable character that sells games. And clean up her humor a little. A lot of her one-liners are soo bad, even a porn writer wouldn't use them. She can be sexy, sassy and fun but the way she is now, I'm expecting her to knock her opponent to their knees, pull out her strap on and whip her opponent in the face with it (hands free of course :p).

It reminds me of the main theme of SF-Alpha (movie). They keep asking over and over "Why do you fight?". That's what I'm asking Capcom, "Why are we supposed to want to fight?" It may be too late in the game now to set up a cohesive universe, but that is what I'd like to see.
