If blocked cancel advantage on d+1 is only +1 and Smoke Bomb has 14 frames of startup why is it so hard to poke out of blocked d+1~smoke bomb without it trading?

so none of smoke's normals/strings are advantage on block with the exception of uppercut huh? Interesting, I always thought that 3,d1 and 3,d12 may be advantage on block but apparently they are just minus 2 and neutral.

VERY USEFUL to us smoke players, we appreciate all you do Somberness!

Worst Sub-Zero Ever
This is interesting. Any time smoke does 3d1 and tries to pressure afterwards, he's getting blown up by Sub-Zero's standing 2. That's one of those things I was always uncertain of when playing Smoke, but now I know.

Im not sure I understand what is meant by the "cancel advantage".

Can someone explain this to me? What is the difference between standing 1 being neutral on "block advantage" but being +15 on "Cancel Advantage (Block)"

Im sorry if this is a stupid question lol...

It is the advantage you get when cancelling out of a normal into a special or another normal. The advantage is the first frame of your special/normal to the frame where your opponent recovers. If it is a knockdown, it is until the wakeup invincibility starts (or after the knockdown invincibility ends).

How i see it is that the smokebomb leaves your hand after frame 14, it connects on frame 19 - somberness.

+1 cancel advantage means that D1 ~ smokebomb will leave your hand and become un-interuptable after 13 frames.

You have 13 frames to interrupt the bomb coming out.

EDIT: Also if your poke connects between the 13th and 19th frame, the bomb will have left his hand and will still hit you and juggle.
Some moves that cause lots of hitstun or a knockdown (sweeps) will mean smoke doesnt have time to collect you from the juggle, but i dont know specifics.

There isn't much to go over, it's just hard because you have to know it's coming and have good timing.
KT Smith said this earlier, is there any truth to this, or are there really 13 frames before the bomb comes out in d1~SB?

I've interrupted smoke bomb as the cloud is forming in his hand, not sure if that's the best visual cue as to when the true startup ends.

smokey

Actually according to this, true startup is 14 and impact is 19.

My bad, i was using the frame data that i had heard and mixed it up wit hthe correct. Its a hard punish because you are trying to punish a d1 on block, and you have limited time before you get launched so if you try, and fail, you get launched. Other d1 punishes are the same, just without a smoke bomb forcing you to punish on time.

Edited my original post to reflect the good frame data!

Again with the whole punishing blocked d1's, you need to really commit and predict it because theres like no blockstun atall and its a very tight punish, smokes is a good d1 to practice punishing, because if you are slow then you get launched.
