Sub and scorpion, sure... but mostly because having an MK game without them is like having a street fighter game without Ryu.. or a Mario game without Mario. Zero guests please. But I also don't want the stupid obscure MK characters everyone forgot about from the games that sucked. UMK3 or MK9 cast minus freddy and call it a day.

You don't actually want that to be the cast. You just wanted to show you knew who they were.

Quan Chi is the root of all evil in the series and a NECROMANCER, there's no way he didn't anticipate potentially dying and plan for it. Same sort of goes for Shang Tsung, another character whose whole schtick is cheating death. The fact that he was barely mention in MKX at all is a travesty. A revived Shang Tsung that acts as an anti-hero would be sick.

Drahmin has way too much potential to not wanna see with current gen graphics, his design is so grotesque and macabre that he'd make a visually horrifying henchman for whoever the big bad is. And just imagine how brutal his moveset could be with that club and this new Goretech, whatever it entails.

Now is Kai's time to shine considering Liu Kang is the emperor of the Netherealm and Kung Lao a revenant. Have him be the new face of the Shaolin alongside Kung Jin and take on Kang and Lao.

Sindel, Smoke and Nightwolf I'd like to see reverted back to their human forms. Sindel can go after Kitana, Smoke can aid Sub-Zero and Nightwolf can help the Kombat Kids battle Dark Raiden.

I want a game set in the time period during the Great Kung Lao’s defeat of Shang Tsung, ending his 9-tournament win streak, up until Goro and Lao meet in His final tournament.
I want a game focused on the majesty & ceremony of the actual tournament, and what it means for the combatants & their realms.
This focus on the “war” between Earthrealm and Outworld has grown quite tiresome.

I think that Great Kung Lao and his struggle would be a great prelude game to the first MK game in the same vein as Mythologies was for MK4.
