Raiden is ranked 9 out of 15 caracters available on MK4. he has many evasive tactics with his Tlpt and also with the torpedo. He isnt that damaging alone and his weapon combos are limited, but the Torpedo done on reaction and his rushdown coupled with his Lightning makes him a very dangerous character in the right hands. Watch out for Teleport into LK throw or wake up torpedos. He can be used as a zonner too.

Having standar moves, Rayden has only a nice aaHk and a fast Lk. All his attacks share properties with the rest of the characters. His crouched Hk is the Kick launcher that will be exlained in the general guide. Slow sweep and RH and a nice uppercutt (i dont know why but I feel more solid the Rayden uppercut). Jumping attacks are ok and the most important thing about them is that all can be cancelled by his air torpedo. this leads to some nasty mind games (Jump HP HK + Torpedo = 37%).

His teleport is very fast and can be comboed virtually off any hit. When rushing is particulary good because you an end behind you foe and trick his blocking. After an Lk or Lp throw too. You can use it as part of a combo after a pop up but its very difficult to do. Dont over abuse the Tlpt because it can be scouted and punished. As already mentioned he can use teleport in juggles but its not recomended since the position for it is specific.

The torpedo is an excelent move. Its best used in combos. If blocked, it can be heavly punished by anyone (Scorpion hurts the most). Its excellent as a combo ender. Dont use it as a transportation move, unless against step in/out opps. The best use you can give to it is to caugh your enemy. In crossups is very good as you hit for example Hk and do the tap for the torpedo but delay the Lk button. If your foe blocks it, watch for the most minimal block release and hit Lk. Free Torpedo. this can be scouted of course, but if you take the time to master it and you can "hit confirm" this become a deadly tactic. Also, if you happen to collide airborne with someone, hit quickly Hk and air torpedo. Dont use it as an anti crossup cause it can be hit. in corners it do good damage. Its very good to escape aa atempts. If you do an air torpedo and fail it at all, it must be punished airborne because you just cannot when it lands.

The lightning is one of the best proyectiles in the entire game. When used in a combo its the second fastest proyectile in the game. If you use it in a rushdown pattern, be sure to always cancel it off something to ensure contact and to make it safer. to punish it the foe must block it from very close. It can end a long combo but it does less damage than the torpedo. A standard rush pattern could be R. HkLp R.Lp into Lightning. This simple stuff is very safe, allowing sometimes even a teleport into LK throw which will cause good damage.

His wpn is very damaging but slow. Used in combos is very good. Hkhk Draw Wpn, Jump Hp , Torpedo its an easy combo and does about 40%. All of his wpn attacks if blocked can be punisheable by the "punishers" Liu, Reiko, Jax and Sub. Airborne attacks have all great priority and back jHP done on reaction as an aa followed by a torpedo is very good. You can also set up traps doing blocked jLp on purpose and when your foe goes in retaliation...free torpedo. Another good wake up strat could be comboed HK, B+HP or HP with weapon then teleport and wake up LK throw. Its also possible to use LP weapon attack as a last hit into maximum damage and continue the juggle after it buts its very risky because this weapon attack with Raiden is very slow.

Both of his throws are excellent because they damage a lot and leave the foe confused if you mix it with the teleport. Specially the Lk one wich makes the camera crazy if you tlport.

Raiden has no know infinites.

Turning off the maximum damage will cause Raiden to get about 50-50%+ juggles in corner but thats it. His overall game with max damage off will be excactly the same as it should be with max damage turned on.
