I've been playing poison ivy since the game first came out and I wanted to main her because I actually like poison ivy but I was disappointed in her play style when I played her... but it was just the release of the game and I thought they would fix her but the only patch took around 3 months and all they did was gave her faster startup and a growing hit box on vines and reduced her damage after up datura... basically this rant is about all the things wrong with poison ivy and how they should fix it
#1- her character model: two words , SOCCER MOM. When you think of poison you think of a seductive character someone with a lot of sex appeal but poison ivy injustice is just not that... first it's too long and why it's in a braid I don't know it's just too mom ish... second that lettuce leaf around her neck that can't be removed needs to go!! Give her more gear like starfire just leafy-er
Also this is extra but if y'all could have a legendary head piece for poison ivy that gives her the Snapchat flower crown or something just an idea
#2: her playstyle: honestly poison ivy feels like a soccer mom that took karate/ self defense classes to protect her "babies" instead of her plants fighting for her. I never thought NRS character design was horrible idea until I played poison ivy... poison ivy is supposed to control her plants to fight for her and stay in the background and sets up her opponent( so basically a zoned/ setup character) but in injustice she uses more Melee moves than the so called "rushdown" characters! She uses her fists more than she does fighting with her plants ex. All of her combo strings, her grab, her datura, etc. only her b3 and her d2 uses a vine like how? She might as well be black canary with all these fighting styles she knows... and know you're probably saying "oh it's a fighting game you have to fight up close" even though 90 percent of the cast is zoners... and characters like scarecrow and brainiac have long ranged melee attacks. Poison ivy doesn't....
#3: her pet: this one makes the least amount of sense.... dexter vs nightshade....part 1: poison ivy actually has the power to control her plants unlike dexter who is not apart of atrocitus yet she can't control her pet ?? Confusing. Also poison Ivy's pet goes away on grab ( even if you tech it) or hit or push block even though you can't control it. Also poison ivy doesn't have as versatility with her pet unlike dextar. Also her pet can making her moves negative on hit so they can block like if they had aquamans trait or poke back and make negative on block even if the move is plus because the pet changes the hit and block advantage which pairs well with the fact her pet goes away on hit
How they should fix her:
Deadly kiss: change it to a pheromone blow kiss that's like Sonya blades but meterburn makes them come to poison ivy like quanchi
And safe on meterburn and bigger pushback on block
Datura stance: changes to a vine stance tat summons a vine behind poison ivy giving her 3 choices... 3 is a low that grabs the opponent by the legs tossing them up in the air (like up datura). 2 vine pulls enemy out of the air slamming them to the other side bouncing them for a combo can meter burn to slam them again back to the beginning side
1 reaches vine in front of poison ivy grab the opponent and swingin them to the other side launching them full screen
As you can probably tell you can do these in order for a combo or separately for other combo potential... I would work the same as datura with no movement or block and recall just different choices
Bed of thorns: change to prevent people from jumping or using abilities that lift the enemy up like supergirls upward punch thingy... or increase the damage
Nightshade: change to be controllable and projectiles shoot fast and quick like deadshots bullets since the pet can't move unlike dextar and the pet can now track upwards anti airing
And lastly just change her combos to give her more range on her combos using her plants and vines and more Enders pushing the enemy away from her so she can "get back into her zoning" and possibly a combo that has a projectile in it like dead shot or starfires b1,2
And no I'm not bad with poison ivy I still give people the mix but some of the stuff is just playstle changes but that PET... it's got to change it's NOT OK
Just my opinion
