What's new

options after nutpunch/restand

What are your go-to’s?

I picked Cassie up last week and finally have a pretty good understanding of her. Have her combos down, understand where she wants to be generally in terms of spacing, have a good feel for her buttons and strings, etc.

But now that I’m continually getting the restand I’m dying to get a little more cheeky with it. Obviously throw is an option and her normal starters, but are there any ambiguous frame traps? Any shimmy that seems to work really well? Etc.

Thanks!!

D4 if you know they're going to either grab or go on offense.

Grab if you're feeling like living on the edge.

B2,4 if you think they're going to back up or block.

Back up if you think they're going to go on the offense.

B1,3 if you're a real O.G (I usually do it after an U3 if it hits because it seems people don't block low after that?)

F4,1 is a good option too, unless they wanna downpoke.

I almost always go into f4 stagger pressure or throw. Really no point going to anything else. They can’t hit a button so the probably going to block low. F4 is the safest and best option. If they hit a button you get a combo, if not you can f4 walk back wiff punish. f4 pretty much anything you want

I mainly see myself going for B24 or F41 with AMPed Kneecappin on hit, and staggered into throw on block

Could you explain to me where she wants to be in terms of spacing? And her general gameplan? I'm new to Cassie and I'm getting ABUSED right now. By everybody.

i personally try to STAY at about 1/3 screen away depending on the match-up...a little further for those like jade and jax with fast advancing strings/crazy range..but typically just outside of jump range because a quick dash in and youve got f2, b3, and b24 options

this depends on your opponent but normally around B24 range. From there you can wiff punish with b24 or pressure with F2. Is your outside of b24 range F2 is not a threat so they can just neutral duck it. If your in B2 range they have to respect both options.

Why do you call F2 "pressure"? Due to F2 1+3 +1 string?

I am still beginner. :)
And I watch Foxy playing her. I do not know if he is "good example" as he is maximum neutral heavy. Only using B2/F4 not tge other slower/unsafe moves. Maximum risk efficiency.
I like his play however just a bit too calculated. But I know it is neccessary.

Yeah and F2 is 0 on block I believe or slightly negative but it’s a high so they don’t have to respect cause you outside of B2 range. If your in B2 range they have to respect it so it’s easy to get away with F2. I like how Gross plays Cassie.

If you hit them from a juggle then it is +4, making f4 guarantee. So mix up f4 and throw. If they tech on react to you walk in, start doing 111 as it is auto shimmies

Yes I like too. Looks "so" different from Foxy.

My only concern about Cassie that I do not like heavy zoning and projectile wars. :) And probably I will be forced to do it or disadvantage. Will turn out after more matches.
