Question Options after d3

OK I should really know this one better, but I have always had trouble using d3 properly.

After a landed d3 what can I do I am at +3 if they are standing and +10 if they are crouching which will never happen unless it is a counter poke lbsh.
OK when I am at +3 I can't really throw out a b2 since it would be 12 frames. A d4 would be 9 frames. Both of these options my opponent could jump out of. I can always check with my jab 2 since it would be 6 frames (but if they decide to poke with d1 that gets stuffed) or if I was close enough I could check with d1. What about max range d3? There is always throw.

I like 2 because it's fast (6f after frame adv), anti airs into an easy hit confirmable combo, leads to a potential mix up (21 / 214 if they aren't expecting it, also 2~sb works) and it's 0 on block. On hit your +6 which gets you a free D4 unless they're P1 and they just frame the poke (lolno).

If you read their poke you just dash back off of D3 and whiff punish the poke with B2~SB into combo. If they have good reads on my 2 pressure i begin to throw, B2 and D4 more, sometimes ever multiple D3's if they don't respect anything.

I will normally either (in order of what I like most):

2 pressure (ie 2 2 214~special cancel)
Throw
Back dash and whiff punish with B23 or SB
D3 again FrothyOmen
D4 into +12 pressure options on hit

Pressuring with multiple 2's after d3 can catch some ppl tring to jump out of pressure as well into an easy juggle to d1~SB.

EX Ovi should launch
D3 backdash to gauge your opponents reaction and whiff punish accordingly.

If they sit tight i would go for throws, if they jump go for d1 or standing 2.

Note you could also try for a crossover if you want some JIP pressure and your opponent isnt gonna anti cross up you.

Doing 2 and doing another 2 after another is actually not legit if the opponent jumps out immediately without hesitation they can get a jumpin punch and the second 2 will whiff. This off course only works if the opponent is very YOLO about jumping.

You just have to mix it up, it is similar in to Cage's F3 but about 1000 times less good. 2, 214....2, 2, 214....2, 214....2 throw.

There are a ton of breaks in pressure and staggered strings that your opponent will be able to jump out of. Like you said if you have a jump-happy opponent then you might have to watch it more. For us Smoke players, we are more relying on catching the opponent off-guard and scared of the smoke bomb rather than frame data. We have to remember we are not playing Johnny Cage, and do not have some sort of pressure that can be formulized.
