The October update has given us a new competitive variation for Geras, called "Eternal." Eternal's most significant move is a special called "Sand Siumulacrum." It's Geras's most interesting move, and it's certainly one of his strongest tools as well. In this video, I'll take ten minutes to show you why that's the case.

Part 4: Sand Clone in Neutral and Footsies: 05:54
Part 5: Optimal Combo Damage Boost: 07:15
Part 6: The Corner Setup: 07:55
Part 7: Keeping Turns, Stuffing Counterpokes: 09:14

Good video, dude! Clear, concise, well-organized, well-narrated, and not over-produced. Felt like I got everything I needed from it without a bunch of unnecessary fluff. 10/10, would clone explode again.

Ah thanks for this thread; haven’t gotten to check it yet but so happy you did this. His new variation is one of a few things from this patch that have me wanting to get back into the game so I’m looking hella forward to watching!

EDIT: finally got to watch and it didn’t disappoint at allll. Fantastic job, bruh.

P.S. Burrito found some cool corner set-ups that put the clone right behind them:

i cannot get the timing down to do those jump in combos after the freeze
Start by using J1, because it's faster and reaches farther. Then, work your way up to jump body splash which is 4 frames slower than J1, and then after that, if you want, you can use J2, which is the slowest of them all, at twelve frame startup.

I only used J2 to show that it's possible.

That corner setup is excellent! I'll be stealing that, and then putting it into my next videos, while citing him for his corner knockdown into whiff cancel D4 setup.

I was exploring that last night, but didn't find a proper consistent knockdown for it. Now, we got one.
