NRS Exclusive Stick issue?

I have the Injustice 1 ps3 Arcade stick. I want to give it to a friend who's in need of a stick, but the problem is the stick only works with NRS games and he's trying to play it with SFV. The stick works fine in legacy mode with even the newest game MK11, but for anything not made by NRS it doesn't get recognized at all. Is this a hardware issue I can mod, or is it software based with no workaround?

You'll have to put a PS4/Universal board in there or get a some shitty converter

Just checked my Injustice 1 PS3 stick : it works with SFV. Go to Options > Other Settings > 1P Legacy Controller Authentication.
