I probably would but I play 2 fighters (3 including MK11.) Lugging around a stick and a controller would get annoying fast and I'm definitely not using a pad for SFV or T7.Stay with pad
This is exactly what I'm using right now, but I don't use the same hand placement. Thanks for the reply, mate!During the beta my set up on stick was some thing like this. 8 buttons on stick.
1 2 (Blk) (Thrw)
3 4 (IA) (SS)
First finger on 3, Middle on 1, Ring on 2 and pinky on Blk. I would use ring or pinky to hit 4.
I dealy I would like to make a custom stick that is essentially a hit box but with a joystick instead of the 3 movement buttons, and use the big jump button towards the middle to put my thum on for block, allowing me to keep all four fingers on the attack buttons.
Like 1+3 for throws and shit? I try to avoid shortcuts at all costs anyways (for all fighters.) Thanks, mate!Alt controls are stupid don't bother with them. I pretty much have the default layout
12
34block
Once you get used to command shortcuts playing on stick is pretty manageable
Yes. You can also do 1+2 for intractables and amplifying and 3+4+block for a fatal blowLike 1+3 for throws and shit? I try to avoid those at all costs anyways (for all fighters.) Thanks, mate!
EX Moves uses the stage button now, not block.I was thinking about using either:
FS - LP - RP - TH
BL - LK - RK - IA
or
LP - RP - FS - TH
BL - LK - RK - IA
I really like the Soul Calibur method of putting block on 3. EX moves feel really natural that way.
I’ve been there and I totally agree. I play stick too for all other games except mk. For mk though pad actually works better for me.I probably would but I play 2 fighters (3 including MK11.) I would like to try this layout (I know it's popular), but I can't figure out how to place my fingers and which to use for each button. Specifically, this forces me to use my least agile fingers (ring or pinkie) to activate Block, and that's not sustainable for very long.Alt controls are stupid don't bother with them. Fucck.. I definitely forgot about that.EX Moves uses the stage button now, not block.
An arcade player, eh? Props. This is the layout I've used for mk
1 IA 2
3 BL 4
I put IA in the middle now due to it being required to enhance moves. Wish they would have just stuck to the unique inputs idea.
Also I would set input timing to at least medium. Turn off release check and easy inputs.
This game does seem suited for pad but a stick just feels more natural to me.
