This could be part of the 30th Anniversary celebration. However, this is so disappointing that I think it could be true.

Some kind of MK Anthology with a collection of old games could be fun for the 30th anniversary, but I'm not sure how much resources/money would need to go into something like that, and how much work it would be vs how much profit it would make.
