So your launcher mid screen for good damage comes off of the amp buzzsaw then? Does anyone have any bnb from that?

In the beta if you didn't equip any combo extenders you'd have to do stuff like B12 ND step forward 21 amp saw f22 ender, which didn't do very good damage.

I think it is better to do the saw before the dash as the dash scale quite heavily
Problem is, Amplified buzzsaw was too slow to link after things like F22 and b12 (it might have worked with this one but left them too far away to follow up) so you didn't really have a choice. After glancing at his frames I'm assuming this is still true.

In Clean Cut this works and is 26%: F22~BF1! 23~BF3 F3~DB3

Also I looked quick this morning and Extended Hook is +2 on hit. I think it was +6 in the Beta

Oh boy, looks like kabal got some patches, I'll start testing shit.
edit: if they didn't change Nomad Spin I'm going to shit myself, that move is the hottest garbage.
edit2: F22 Amp saw still doesn't connect, Nomad spin is still one of the worst moves in the game, B1 is -3 (pretty sure it was -1), this is looking like a straight up nerf with no buffs

I was able to connect F22~BF1! (and 11~BF1!) last night. Maybe it was patched out, but I try it tonight and record it.

Ok so assuming NRS will consider updating the default (tournament) variations, what would be reasonable variations for Kabal?

I'd like at least one variation that has both hook grab and NDC

Pretty sure the optimal Bnb midscreen with NDC preset is F22/B12 ND dash forward 22 AmpSaw dash 23 DB4 for 268...cool. For punishing midscreen, 22 AmpSaw dash 23 ND f3DB4 for 294.

So after labbing a bit with kabal’s NDC/low saw/straight air saw tournament variation, I’m wondering if it is not quite as bad as we thought. Straight air saw actually seems to have a good amount of utility, including decent damage off the amplified version following a jump in. Amplified grounded bf1 saw combos seem to only have slightly less damage than hook grab combos, and they look cooler imo if you follow up the amplified saw with 23 nomad dash etc.

And NDC does have two or three strings that are +3 or greater (up to plus 8 for f3 NDC)

You can get more if you start with a jump in to amplified bf1, e.g. ji2, 22, BF1!, 23 ND, 23 db4
 
So I just bought the game....

Was playing Kabal and ran into a Kitana who could just block every single thing I could do.

Is there no low openers to start a combo for Kabal?

How do you mix it up so they don't just sit there and block everything?


It seems all his stuff is easily blockable...
 
Throw is always a strong option. Low hook grab if you have that variation.

Other than that, the name of MK11 is whiff punishing. Pay attention to your spacing, and use b1,2 to it's fullest.
I need characters with mix ups so I can jump in and go high or low if i choose... I liked scorpions infinite combo in MKX. He could kick your leg and start his combos or overhead as well ... I use b12 every time but once they just block its over....I need something low to start....that might make Kabal lame to me if he has no mix up.....

If you need a 50/50 out of a character, the low hook grab will give you that (b12 is an overhead, so b1xxLow Hook is solid 50/50. Same for f4xxLow Hook, and f2,2xxLow Hook), but I think if you rely on his 50/50, then you aren't playing to Kabal's strengths.
