11 then ff2' strings then on like that. When I use B2 after lift, it's hard to connect with 1.

lol im glad you made that edit because i was so confused. but lets see if i can help a bit.

Kitana's combo's are..."unique". They last very long, build alot of meter and do a lot of damage. She has some semi-difficult combos, but they aren't too execution heavy. They main;y require timing, somewhat precise.

When it comes to her Fan Lift combos, those can be very easy, but can also be difficult, depending on the timing and/or attack being cancelled into lift. For example, lets say you land a f21, then neutral jump punch. Most kitana players would follow that up with 4~ground fan then 4~lift. The timing on that is pretty tight, since 4 comes out pretty slow and doesn't have much range, but the payoff is the damage she gets from it. A much easier substitute would be 2~ground fan then 2~lift. The damage isn't as high, but the chances of you landing the combo is much greater, since 2 comes out faster and has a more vertical range.

I'd recommend learning how to do 2~lift in juggles first. It's easy, fast and has good range. Once you get that timing down, then you can try using her more harder juggles.

Thanks man... Let's see if I can explain it better its like PP fan lift then ground throw & that's as far as I can get. Then the other I tried was PP fan lift jumping air fan then ground fan but misses... But I love this character already based off what I know from casual stuff & what I'm learning on a deeper level.

Been toying around with hit confirming 33 into EX Fan Lift. You may think that this is a waste of meter, but the only thing you can do other than the lift is cutter for 17% + 7-8% chip on the followup blockstring. When you do 33~EX Lift, you get 40% midscreen and up to 47% in the corner.

yea that sucks. ive messed around with it but it only combos into ex lift. think of the damage she could get if she was able to link ex fan off of it lol

Because sometimes we fuck up lol. But sometimes it's actually useful, like when you're ending a round and a blockstring after cutter will kill. You'll gain more meter that way.

ahh I see, I was helping my friend out who is trying to get into mk with kitana and I just noticed how a full combo is so much more damage than a cutter. But when I did it I didnt have any trouble hitconfirming it in either ex fan or lift, so it is actually recommended to do the lift over cutter right?

I was messing around with a different format for displaying combos and a waterfall/flowchart type seems to be the easiest to read for me.

The reason why I like it this way is because there are so many paths that Kitana can take in her combos whether it be personal preference for easier variations or to go unbreakable at any point in the combo. This style reflects that.

The problem is that the forum does NOT like whitespace of any kind and so I had to post this in the CODE tags for you to see it.

i do it. its pretty easy to hit confirm. 21cutter is just very natural to us tho lol. plus, its useful at times, like when you're about to close out the round, you'd do cutter and then go for the 8%-11% chip

i think some kits are just greedy and want the f21 damage, which is why they usually dont go for 21 lift.

My local comp caught on to me doing this at the end of a round to build meter and they just let go of block and let me kill them now ;_;

Lol yea i play with certain people who do this too. Its good because i still end the round, but its also disheartening because I don't get to build meter and they do ;_;

I personally do 21 cutter alot, because I like getting the safe jump in for string stagger pressure.

21 lift is nice if they are almost dead and you can finish them with some unbreakable,

The threat of throw and the OTG afterwards forces you into making a decision which is exactly where Kitana wants you to be. Cutter provides this.

Something else I just discovered is how you can put your opponent fullscreen, get a ton of unbreakable damage off the end of her main BnB and build 36.617% of a bar.

Her normal BnB builds 26.16% of a bar. This one builds 27.621% but you get a free whiffed Fan Lift afterwards:

f21, njp, 4~fan, 4~lift, gf, iaf, gf, iaf, [fan lift] - 41% and 36.617% of a bar of meter ^_^

There are situations where it can be useful mid-match. For example, if you're playing a lifelead based match, rather than lifting and letting them break, or just doing an unbreakable, you can do 21~cutter, jip 112~squareboost to chip them down so you have the lead, gain meter, and get away.

It's about a 10% loss in damage for meter build and pressure opportunities. If you like Kitana in your face with her throw, reach, and setups, then cutter combos are for you. Most people, REO included, don't want that bitch anywhere near them.

This is going to take a LONG time for sure. But it will be worth it.

Also, another meter building combo off of 21:

21~fan lift, b2~af, iaf, fan, iaf, [fan lift] - 31% [32.892% meter]
The trick is to barely hit with the b2 so the air fan looks like it is going to whiff. Then the following iaf does it's "anti-infinite" angle which hits them, then ground fan and iaf into a whiffed fan lift for meter.

I've done this with iaf iaf iaf for 31% also, but the one above is easier.

Fuck I wish that I had recording capabilities. I REALLY need to make vids of this shit.

EDIT: Oh and don't be using these meter building combos in the corner... you need to be fullscreen for it to be safe.

NINJA EDIT: I'm sure that Raiden can tele into f24 or something to annoy you so beware.

For the 21 combo above, you can block a wakeup superman if he throws it out, however on the f21 bnb one I posted earlier on this page, you have to leave off the last iaf to be able to block a wakeup superman which gives you only 39% instead of 41%.

Kenshi may be able to hit you with an overhead slash, but if you leave off the final iaf for any of these combos you should be able to block whatever wakeup they throw out at you, including Noob's tackle. This needs more testing though.
