Dumb thread alert: Sorry mods if this wasn't warrented a thread but just wanted to write about reactions I got from trash talkers who I said "good game" to.
Feeling salty, tilted and rage after someone is screaming in the mic is an uncontrollable, unwanted feeling a lot of us experience. It clouds our enjoyment and its easy to forget the reality of what we forget what we're doing. Playing recreational video games, whether competitive or not. I had three trash talkers, one very relentless with they're "you're pathetic/spammer/you're so jealous" comments, and it got a huge rise out of me so I got on the mic and forced myself to say good game in the nicest tone possible. There was a long pause for most (not all) because they probably expected back talk. It doesn't always work, obviously but it does catch players by suprise and by excersicing the absence of giving into salt I feel like we can all enjoy the game without letting trolls get kn our heads.
SORRY IF THIS THREAD WAS A WASTE OF TIME & SPACE I'll accept any flak I'll get
