Apparently, as the official release date of the game gets closer, our anticipation gets higher! Without a shadow of a doubt, Kid Buu seems like the character with one of the most rushdown pressure thus far. His bate movements are insane, his crossup potential with his medium attacks are killer, and he's a beast in the corner!

This is by far by favorite character from playing the beta, so Uncle JBeezY wanted to start some discussion about this character. What have you discovered with Kid Buu thus far? Who is he best paired with? What setups you found out? ANYTHING Kidd Buu!

Apparently...I played 1 quick ranked set before bed. A bit rusty trying out which team will fit for Team Kid Buu, but once I got my ass in gear WHOOP THERE IT IS!

Kid Buu was actually one of my favorites growing up. Nothing makes a statement (or an entrance) compared to screaming like a maniac and blowing up the Earth as soon as we (the reader/viewer) first see you lol

The only other entrance/first impression that compares was when some weird boy with pink hair nobody knew randomly turned into a SSJ and fodderized Frieza AND his dad like it was child's play lol that blew my 8 year old mind to pieces.

It's all so very confusing.
Yeah he's EXTREMELY strong, at least in the early meta. Who knows where it'll go as the game evolves but hes absolutely strong as FUCK right now. And absolutely on my team.

I think there's gonna be ALOT of Buus early on and i hope to God he doesn't get nerfed. He's not overpowered but he's WAAAAAAY better than Majin Buu. Still trying to figure out what team compliments Kid Buu the best as far as assists and combos. SYNERGY!

Been hearing that he doesnt, but Buu does have the universal cr m - m - jc -l-m-l -jc -..... etc string. The key is to time your first jc right as your 2nd hit from your standing medium. Standing medium is 2 hits.

Thats right! Its very tricky tho and ive tested this. If you're going for an air combo juggle, dont allow the medium to hit twice, cuz the gravity of the combo will drop, at least i dont. I find it difficult to keep the same momentum when it hits twice because it mostly drops.

But what are good team combinations with Kid Buu ?Question mark? I'm finding a hard time trying to get a good core team to stick with.

Aww man i pick people on cosmetics first rather than compability, so probably cant give the best advice. That and my character choice is limited cuz my brother uses the other badasses in the game like frieza, black, and vegeta already and i don't like using the same toons.

With saying that, trunks assists lets buu get an arm grab combo without burning meter on the heavy. Buu also lets trunks re-juggle with his assist.

Do you have only the regular game? Or did you get the FighterZ or Ultimate edition ?Question mark?

Buu does a lot well, and as a character can probably fit on most teams. When it comes to character synergy, I think the question is less what teammates can do for him, and more what characters can he help the most with his assist. I think you want characters who get a lot from that blockstun, since it lasts longer than the far more versatile Vegeta assist. He lets me go for some wild Beerus set ups for example, I'm trying to find some other dirt with Black or Goku to take advantage of that lockdown. At a base level he also provides time for an IAD mixup for the cast.

So looks like my final team is my first one still K. Buu, Trunks, and A. Gohan. All very strong on their own.

what I've been doing with gohan now is using him as a shield while I pull buu into the enemy with his long reaching mediums. If they try to dash or whatever gohan will catch them and buu will be able to convert or be safe to keep pressure up.

With trunks I'm still trying to find out how to use his assist more optimally but I've been using it at the moment as a breather or pusher. while its on screen I usually can get buu's 214S out.

My game has leveled up with buu a decent amount now that I've been using the assists to make him even safer and scarier than he already was.

To me, his assist is the hardest to implement because its about the timing. His arm ball's start up is pretty damn slow so when you're in the heat of battle, I almost forget to use it. So im trying to find a way to frame trap with it like i do Vegeta's assist.

Thats a pretty solid team and you can't go wrong with A.Gohan. He's a combo monster himself and adding Buu's assist will help apply even more crazy pressure. You should post video of your progress ;)

Hmmm.. need more testing but block pressure may have just leveled up (crossing fingers)

Thats one of his best tools because it can beat anybody's 2H. Do u know how many ppl ive pissed off doing that shit in the corner?? hahaha Rage quit after Rage quit cuz there's basically no way to get around his corner pressure besides block or maybe a tag cancel :D

They can 2H a lot of his pressure cuz of gaps. Such as the ball loops before ball even comes out. The air S interrupting 2H is real good tho if they arnt punishing your gaps.

Ive been working on finding gapless strings tho to keep them locked down.

Im really excited about labbing more stuff once i get home

Just wish training had a "counter action recorder".

RIght!? I dont even know how to test things in training mode tho, like set the dummy to do EXACTLY you want to simulate real time battle situations.

So i found best way so far is to record and mash an action that u want repeated, such as 2H. Set enemy to always block and then hit the play back button as soon as u end the block string your testing. And obviously u can record something other than 2H.

I still dont understand why in 2018 fighting games still dont have a universal perfect format for training mode options. Work with what we got tho i guess
