Eh I feel possessed isn't all that bad but Balanced is easier to use and Kenjutsu is far harder to use but very effective. You can kinda overwhelm your opponent at times when your up in their face cause you have a few options but other than that I don't know I think he is the worst variant.

There's some obvious incorrect framedata in Possessed's Demon Slam moves, namely the close and far versions being -56 on block and -40 on hit. They come down and do the same amount of hitstun and blockstun as the normal versions, so that's a typo to be patched out whenever.

A basic touch off the teleport should yield an absolute minimum of ~23% with nj2, f32~df3 - this could be switched up for a midscreen EXdb4 for 24% + whatever else you can string off it (probs 421/111~db1).
If you want to keep them fullscreen, nj2, f32~df2 will yield 20% and get them over there.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, possessed feels like his weakest variation. Weaker zoning than balanced, and weaker mixups than Kenjutsu. It's honestly like a middle-ground between the two, except it just doesn't work when you're mediocre in both areas. You need to be strong in an area for it to be effective, and possessed is not.

The biggest problem is that his zoning does can be navigated through without much trouble compared to balanced. But when he's up close, he's simply not a threat at all. Even though he has safe 50/50 mixups thanks to his specials, he can only score damage off meter burning his demon slam. So the only true threat is for the opponent to block low and he has to waste meter on top of it to do it. Kenjutsu has good damage off his overhead and low mixups and it doesn't cost meter to do it.

So yeah, my opinion is that possessed still has it very rough, even after the patch.

I concur Possessed is not bad at all. I began using Possessed as my first variation for Kenshi against @bananasheriff23 in our Jacqui vs. Kenshi battles. Once I steamroll with pressure after Demon Drops, I maximize damage for instance with B1~DB4~nj2~44~DB(RT)4~DB(RT)4~4,3~FB3 *13 Hits/40% Damage in this scenario.

Yeah he can do some better damage and open people up far easier then balanced and I would say his zoning is harder to use but demon slam hitting low is awesome and when you train then to block low teleporting in and getting a combo off is always nice. He also has some very scary options when your in someones grill: Am I gonna normal attack into demon slam, Demon overhead/low (can't recall name), am I gonna teleport, then am I gonna punch, kick, or just drop. It can really tip ppl up as they try to guess what you are gonna do next and then you can just add in a throw to make their brain explode.

He is very unsafe though- far more than any other variant which really gives the "possessed feel". Although lets be real here, he is also the funnest variant to play

Possessed Kenshi 47% dmg with two bars. Goes like this:

jp, f32, ex db4, f32, ex db4, 43, bf3.

Also an unbreakable damage combo i found with 3 bars. Deals 30% dmg. Good if you are going for the kill and opponent has breaker.

By demon assault, you mean bf3?

If so, i m pretty sure, Ermac and Scorpion can punish it with teleport, Probably QC can punish it with EX trance (?) and from close range, SZ' slide, Reptile's slide, EB's slide. From sweep range, it can be punished by everyone with a full combo, since its that minus frames on block (-23f IIRC).
