Kabal Combo Thread

Since there is no thread for kabals combos for some reason I'll just start this one. since mean streak doesn't have any individual combos you can apply every combo in this thread with this variation as well if end with db4 instead of db3.
kabals optimals are actually pretty hard to do so I will also write down versions of the combos that are easier to pull of without leaving too much damage on the table.
if you have better combos feel free to post them, I'll add them to the op.

if anyone is wondering, dc stands for dash cancel.

Midscreen meterless combos coming from mids (b12,f22,f4)
  • b12xbf3,dash,23xdb3 23% (22% with db4)
  • f22xbf3,dash,23xdb3 23% (22% with db4)
  • f4xbf3,dash,23xdb3 23% (22% with db4)
midscreen 1bar combos coming from mids (b12,d22,f4)
  • b12xbf3,dash,4xbf1amp,dc1,dc23xdb3 29% (28% with db4)
  • easier version: b12,bf3,dash,4xbf1amp,dc23xdb4 28% (you can't end in db3 this way)
  • f22 does the same damage as b12 starter, f4 does 29,7%
if you don't have the execution to dash cancel after bf1amp you can do this

- starterxbf3,dash,23xdb4amp 25%

midscreen meterless combos coming from a high (111,23)
  • 111xbf3,dash,1,dc23xdb3 25% (25% with db4)
  • easier version: 111xbf3,dash,4xdb4 23%)
  • 23xbf3,dash,1,dc23db3 27% (27% with db4)
  • 23xbf3,dash,4xdb4 25% (or f3xdb4 for 0,2% more damage)
midscreen 1bar combos coming from a high (22,111,23)
  • 111xbf3,dash,d1,dc23xdb4amp 27%
  • 23xbf3,dash,d1,dc23xdb4amp 30%
  • 22xbf1amp,dcd1,dc23xbf3,dash,4xbf3 30% (30% with db4)

Anyone know what the corner combos look like when you do the JK? When I do the combo I'm in the corner jump kicking out. I dunno what I'm doing wrong there. Any video of what it looks like or the timing?

add a d1 after the bf1 amp, it leaves them at the perfect height and gravity

it has to be done like this. after bf1amp you have have to do 23 quite early. you can even add a 22 before it but you can't end it in restand then


and as @Paaapiman said you can even add a d1 before the 23 it does a bit more damage


@Xerclipse that's really nice, though I'll only add tournament variation combos to the OP. I hope air dash gets tournament legal soon

Thanks. Having been only playing non tournament and that variation set, I really do think making that legal would make the meta interesting. It's really a gimmick and an easier way for him to close in without spending meter unlike dash cancels. Its not without glaring weaknesses like against strong anti airs. But the damage potential is pretty disgusting if you know what youre doing.

Any tips for landing 23 after B12D2 KB? Seems only the 3 comes out. I try to time it later but they just drop down and I whiff. I find 11 to be more consistent but then 23 is better damage but quite a bit

Try timing 23 just as the opponent falls down about Kabal's waist. Wait until you obverse the opponent going under kabal's chest, and then input 23 as the opponent falls at the height of Kabal's waist.

If only 3 comes out your pressing 23 too early. It‘s a pretty hard link tbh I still drop it from time to time.

However this combo is infinitely easier in the corner because you can do:

B12d2 kB,d1,22,23xbf3,4xdb4amp for 39%

You can leave out 22 if it‘s too hard but the d1 makes it way easier an does more damage.

Thanks. I’ll probably stick to 11 then. I’ll take consistency over damage any day

I just tried, you can do d1,23 after b12d2kb even midscreen you just have to microdash after d1,makes it soooo much easier
you can also just do 23 after b12d2kb in midscreen. works good. once you have the timing down it is kinda easy. no need for dash here.

I know it's just for people who have a hard time getting 23 out consistently after b12d1kb. d1 is easier to land after the kb so d1,dc,23 is actually quite easy to hit.
