Joker Combo Guide with Noble Raptor

HellblazerHawkman

Confused Thanagarian

Remember the Joker? He's gone through some big changes since the start of the game, with a lot of his combos looking really different on paper since the input for his teeth changed to DD3. With that in mind, Noble Raptor has done what he's done best and put together a fresh combo guide for the Clown Prince of Crime complete with notations on screen as he does them.

This might not be everything the Joker has to offer, but this will get you off to a great start if you are looking to pick him up. He includes combos you can do both mid-screen and in the corner, so you've got the things you can work on in both parts of the arena. If you found this helpful, make sure you follow Raptor on Twitter for updates on his next video. It looks like he is planning to do everyone in the cast, so expect him to hit your main sometime in the future.

Newbie Joker question: Are these the bnbs Joker mains use? Are they optimal, do they allow for the teeth set ups in the corner? I see a lot of Jokers end corner stuff in 213 so I was curious.

Nice combos. I watched this video, while I heard Dethklok - Awaken.

213 is the only string with enough advantage to comfortably throw out teeth and start up any string you want (including f3/b3). That's why it's commonly used as an ender. I think it was specifically designed to be used that way. The last hit of 213 doesn't even land on airborne opponents anywhere but the corner.

As far as this being the optimal combo in every situation I would say to be careful. I use different combos when I'm playing a zoner like Starfire or Green Arrow because I opt out of damage in exchange for keeping them closer to me. In other situations I end my combo in deathspin because I know my opponent has a hard time getting in or they don't have a projectile and I can sneak in a trait laugh or something.

Also, I don't use 32 as a starter or really ever outside of combos. It's slow, negative, and the hitbox can be a little wonky. 21 is plus 2, faster, and can be cancelled into more stuff. Using 32 in the neutral is not a good idea I think. 32 can be poked off any cancel and it's negative no matter where you end it.

Finally, some of these are a little tight to land. If you like the higher execution stuff then keep at it. You can do easier combos that do maybe 10-20 points less damage in most cases. In fact, I actually think I know some easier combos that do a bit more damage than I saw in this video, like I think b1 df1mb dash up j2 32 db3 actually does a bit more damage than what Raptor pulled off which was much more swaggy but ended in sweep.

Yeah honestly these are solid. They're what I use for the most part. Worth noting though that the J2 before B13 can be finicky against tiny hitboxes (Cats/Canary) midscreen as the hit from teeth will sometimes whiff, but you can opt for J1 for consistency in those MUs. B13 is a true HKD, that's probably why Raptor opted for that, but 213 is essentially just as good since it splats, has more hit advantage, still allows you to safely place teeth, and is really good for side switch combos.

Also, D3 ender midscreen sets up a nice J2 crossup, but that's honestly not something I've had the chance to use too much.

I honestly never figured out why the need for teeth in the middle combos it seems like an unnecessary step I know a lot of people say oh it's for setups but you can end your combo and teeth for the same setups from what I've seen other than meter gain I can't see the benefit again this is just my point of view this is all what I see I more likely could be wrong
