The August patch has given Showstopper Johnny much better combo utility.
This utility can also be applied to all of Johnny's anti-air options, which allows him to squeeze out tons of damage in situations you may not expect.

Also, I've never really considered using S3 as an anti-air. How would you guys say it compares to S1?

It's a little slower, but goes a little further. Thing is, it's only rewarding when you have fatal blow available.

It's cool but very situationional and hard to execute. Like you'd probably need to fish for it and be spot on with the fb cancel right after aa normal.

Which IMHO makes it impractical.
