It's Time to Get Rid of the Daily KL Sets Requirement and the Blood Requirement

It has run its course, it's time to replace them with something quicker that doesn't force as much upon players.

The sets required possibly can force players to play 15 fights (or for some, to go AFK for 10) for 10 days.

The blood requirement goes up the most from doing fatalities or brutalities....

Overall the game needs to be more easygoing and mindful of its audience as to getting some content off the Kombat League that is meant to be unlocked from just playing the game. The sets and blood requirement are always the last two to complete and take the longest to get done.

As long as I always do the fatalities or brutalities the blood is usually finished for me before the fatal blows to be honest, but can see how it’s annoying, especially as online most people want to bypass the long drawn out fatality sequences.

As for the sets, whilst I completely agree it’s excessive and boring, there is the fact that you don’t even have to play to complete them. Once it’s my last challenge to complete and I’ve already secured any rank skin I’m after, I just hit random character select and put the controller down whilst I let people beat up my AFK characters as I watch a movie or something. Although you brought this up as a point of contention, it literally only takes around 15 mins tops to lose 5 sets whilst not fighting back, plus I like helping people level up whilst I get free Krystals just for my charity haha.

All worthwhile in the end... Why hello there classic Reptile :D

Naaah, that means 100-150 sets. This is way too much. It does depend on characters and their moves because some spill less than others but usually, unless you lose all the time and/or only have 2 round matches, 5 sets per day should be enough to get all requirements in 10 days without doing fatalities/brutalities. I just did it this season.

It's a ranked mode so nothing should be easy going about it. If you play this mode regularly season challenges are the easiest to accomplish

The only thing that I really wish they add for KL is a way to unlock past rewards, expecially skins.
It's a bit unfair for new Aftermath/Ultimate buyers to not have the access to past KL rewards.

I cross my fingers that they do something for this to expand the online environment much more and not just KL or die.

Totally agree, especially at the very least for the Apprentice level skins which require nothing but a single defeat to secure so aren’t ever in any way elite or exclusive.

I never realised that before, so missed out on all of the entry level skins until Kytinn Skarlet had me eager to finally play KL and I can’t have been alone in that ignorance for what is literally an effortless freebie each season.

I really do not understand people who act like KL is some forced hard labor, playing five sets is like what usually 15 or 20 minutes? Even as someone who’s usually so fucking exhausted & fried from work constantly I can still find time to do my daily five whenever.

I agree with getting rid or at least cut down the Blood requirement a bunch.

Because of it people do fatalities almost all matches what is just wasted time.

5 sets is like an hour. It will depend on the games, but if you're fighting multiple sets that go to three matches, yeah, it takes a little while. Compound that with time wasted on the character screen when someone goes AFK or trolls, or people that want to fatal every time, and those 5 sets can drag on.

The daily challenge sucks, its always the same 'play 5 sets a day' challenge, I expected something more interesting for daily events, hit a 10 hit combo or connect with 3 throws in a match. Just get rid of it altogether and make the challenge play 50 sets of KL, that way I don't take an L on a skin I want for moving and being unable to play for first 3 weeks.

I don't have much to say on the blood requirement besides that it's kind of a dumb challenge since its impossible to measure.
 
The only one I hate is the 5 sets per day thing. Some days I want to play a shit ton, some days I want to play like one set, some days I don't want to play at all. I'd love if they switched that out with something like "play x sets each with y different characters" or something like that. I agree that it's weird when people complain that they have to play the game, but I just don't like the way the sets are divvied up.

It's odd since it just seems to be another way to measure roughly 50 sets. I usually finish up the blood requirement a day earlier than I complete the 10 days of 5 sets each. Maybe this is different for people that like to fatal a lot or play bloodier characters, but for Jade and Shang it seems consistent
 
Should get rid of daily sets and rank decay tbh, but I know where that shit is coming from.
You've got some kind player retention statistics specialist at NRS that tells you in order to keep people engaged and keep up the player count, you have to force people to log on every day like it's some kinda fucking MMO and sadly it seems to work for the most part.

Same reason they don't remove that shit as why they don't do WIFI filters. Statistics probably say that 60% of players play on WIFI so they're like "Yeah let's not make them feel bad for being on WIFI".

I feel like the challenges would be just fine if KL was an actual ranked league mode instead of just a FT2 grinding mode. If we had things like stats and/or progression brought over from previous leagues, individual character mastery placements (like the top 100 players for each character) and rewards (gear, banners, skins, etc.), and permanent logs of the tops of past league leaderboards, I highly doubt people would mind the challenge grinds as much.

As it is, I'd much rather have an entire KL overhaul instead of bandaiding the tedium of it all by messing with the challenges.
