Is my flawless block tutorial bugging out?

I'm still stuck on this. One question, on the very first bit against Jade, if no block button is pressed she freezes before hitting Raiden and will continue the attack once block is pushed. Is this correct?

I've completed the other tutorials, including the ones with flawless block and can pull them of in matches but I can't complete this because jade's staff doesn't make contact for me to actually block it.

Just wanting to know if pause is intended and is happening to everyone or if it's some kind of bug?

Yeah, the pause is to help with the input timing. Then they ask you to do it again without the pause.

Thank you. So you kind of have to push block twice to do it? Because after the pause she won't move again until I press block.
