Yup, I mentioned it in the list, it depends on how early you release each jumping attack. Basically tick throws are anything that won't jail on block when canceled into the grab.

EDIT: Ups, I thought you meant it as ticking from jumps, not jumping to evade them.

is it selfish to still be mad that b33 Ice Ball still doesn't work on everyone? lol
To be honest I wouldn't care if it only worked in the corner against everyone but not midscreen as long as it was universal. I don't know why to this day it still works like that and I'd be fine if I couldn't 50/50 females midscreen. It can't be that hard to adjust, IDK maybe they never changed it as a compensation for the corner combos against female hitboxes or something, but it's awkward that your options change based on sex, not the way you balance a game, I'm not sure if there are more cases of combos not connecting against one gender, at least this is the only one I know.

I'm sure there are others, not to mention the stupid costumes effecting the hurtboxes/combos. That was an old bug from MK9 with the Klassic combos especially for the cyborgs. Also the stupid useless stance changing causing stance specific combos. Sub has his female combo issue from MK3/UMK3 again. It wasn't hard for the fans to adjust game properties for the TE version of UMK3. Why something like this isn't fixed overall is beyond me, it's been there since day 1.

Just came back from a quick lab session, here is the official list of strings that can tick throw for Cryo now:

(Jumping Attacks depending on delay too)

On hit only the launching cancelable ones can connect (24, 123 both in the corner or in some specific gravity heavy juggles), but there aren't grounded strings that can connect on hit (like Erron's B12).

Toying right now with after hammer oki game, JIP following by jab into poke, inserting the throw at any point. Looks promising.
Can you tell me what iam doing wrong, f33xxdbf3, after the f33 cryo does what I call a whiff grab at the opponent, the dbf3 does not make contact, any help would be appreciated, will the grab work if you get hit confirm for the f33 or will it only connect if the f33 is blocked

Someone may correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure in order for the command throw to land on a hit confirm it has to be meter burnt. On block the throw will connect without MB'ing it. Also the opponent can duck the throw. So if they're expecting it, it may whiff that way.

(I was thinking this out for myself as I was writing, so don't take it as preachy)

I don't think "random" is what you want to go with. Maybe you don't mean it literally, but tossing them out randomly would randomly but yourself at risk with the big whiff recovery.

We'll have to play and gain experience, obviously, but with the limited experience I have so far... I can compare him to Sun God, another command grab character that I play. Personally, I always focused more on staggers with Sun God because of his great normals and used ticks to a lesser extent in situations after conditioning with his "plus-frames into pokes" mind-game.

Cryomancer strikes me as a different style. Doesn't really have the stagger game, but you've got a ton of tickable normals and strings. And you've got a safe, mid ender in Ice Burst that you can use to condition the opponent after those normals and strings. Once you get them to respect that ender, you're able to choose your spots based on reads and start clocking them with the command grab. And that becomes the mind-game.

Cryo is looking really good. Watching the Reo v Sonicfox Cryo Sub and while yes it's Sonic, it's the character that's impressing me more than who's behind the wheel. With that said, by no means am I even slightly diminishing Foxes abilities.

Rule number one of command throw characters not so much about the command throw itself but scaring your opponent with the idea of it. Cryo certainly gives good reason to be afraid of getting tagged.
 
Any one give me help with stand 1 into tick , I can seem to do it but when I'm in the lab my inputs are clean do I have to wait to input it after the blocked standing one ? Or can I buffer it like the rest of the tick throws ?

It should work fine, s1 has a closer window than usual to insert the next command so mayb execute it a bit faster. It's kind of an OS as on hit is almost impossible to make the throw start.

In the lab now I got it more consist just needed to get use to I suppose talking os you guys think they should take it out for sub ? The b3 os

I still waste meter on females cause I forget that it works on them. In my mind, no ex in the corner and ex in midscreen is what it is for everyone lol

The command grab itself has bad risk/reward, but due to the large amount of guessing and conditioning you can put in place with his newly safe frost bomb, this character is nuts.

Btw what was the unbreakable damage that Sonic talked about on twitter? X ray?

Probably, Cryo has always been able to cancel the stabby move into X-Ray and Sonic did it a lot during his match series against REO. I was surprised he didn't use more meter for other things, meter building for the variation increased but only a bit, with the move being a special instead of part of a string, Sonic in general seems to manage meter really well with any character.

Would just like to point out a nice corner mind game I noticed sonic do and have been doing myself, after a hammer knock down you dash forward then b2. Sounds stupid till you notice that subs forward dash slides on ice just like slide. So the opponent sees the ice on the floor and blocks low to get the punish since they think your sliding ,works great.

Pretty sure it can be optimized etc. Didn't attempt F122 > NJP > B12 there, I can't get the NJP to hit consistently yet.

Yeah, this thing is my only real gripe about the game in general. It's a matter of taste I guess, and I don't mind learning specific stuff – but for example, imo it's not fun gameplay that in midscreen B33 > Ice Ball only works on females (except at max range...!?). It feels pretty artificial and the game is full of little stuff like that. Like you said, I'd definitely trade that combo for some universality. Sorry for off-topic, end rant!
