Firestorm Combos Thread

John Grizzly

The axe that clears the forest
Reserved for non-gear combos

Edit: I've complained a ton about people not updating combo threads, so I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and try to do justice to a character I was super pumped to see in Injustice 2 - Firestorm.

If anyone wants to post any findings, please do so and I'll add them to this main post. I also plan on doing damages/possibilities in and out of trait and at all 3 levels.

EDIT - Please bear with me here on this. If the list looks incomplete, it's because it is. I'm adding them as I go, so it's going to be a mess for a bit. I promise to keep this organized and concise, but I also just got the game so I want to enjoy it for a bit before diving head first into this character's combos. As suggested, I'm going to focus first on the combos that DO NOT involve using trait. Eventually I will also get to the gear combos, once I actually HAVE gear for this character.

MOST RECENT UPDATE (11/7/17) - Fixed notations to be easier to read. Will be adding new mid-combo trait activation combos soon that are now possible due to the buffs Firestorm has received.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE (11/9/17) - Redid all combos using Superman as the dummy instead of Batman. All damages updated.

Another take. Stole some stuff from jmt forgot that b3 was a thing.

With 112 being +3 and the ability to get a restand ender in the corner, seems like you want to get a ton of carry and just maul maybe. Actually I don't know much about Injustice skipped the first one but that's the initial impression I'm getting.

Oh here's the notation so you don't have to clickthrough to the description

f133xxdb3
f213xxbf3
f3,22,f133xxbf3
f133xxbd2bMB,db1,b3,j3,f213xxbf3 (1 meter)
f213xxbd2MB,db1,b3,j3,f213xxbf3 (1 meter)
f3,22,f133xxbd2MB,db1,j3,f133xxbf3 (1 meter)
bd2fMB,b3,j3,f213xxbf3 (1 meter)
db3MB,f213xxbf3 (1 meter)
f133xxbd2bMB,db1,j2,f21xxdbMB,j3,f213xxbf3 (2 meter)
f213xxbd2MB,db1,j2,f21xxdbMB,j3,f213xxbf3 (3 meters)
db3MB,f213xxbd2fMB,b3,f213xxbf3 (3 meters)

I'll go through each video and add each combo to the list as I get to those sections, guys. Thanks for the contributions! I'll be sure to credit everyone. Please correct me if I get anything wrong along the way.

Some vortex / pressure ideas:

string xx bd2MB, db1 - walk back - ji2, f21 xx db3 - 29%, leaves them standing and you at +17

Wouldn't it be better to shield up after your combo instead of in the middle if you're ending it with a pushback move? If you shield up in the middle you're wasting half of your shield or more.

there is literally no reason not to shield up mid combo, thats why you'd do it mid combo.

you could shield up after combo, sure, but you can also do other things after combo.

If you shield up mid combo, you cannot shield up directly after combo. The reason not to shield up mid combo is then you only have a few seconds of shield for when it actually matters, versus having much more shield time if you tacked it on at the end.

It's just optional. You have all the time in the world to do it so it's totally safe. It's just a suggestion.

After a bd2mb you can just combo for guaranteed damage tho right?

The reason to shield up mid-combo is to generate meter. Shielding up after a combo means you're giving up your frame advantage to shield. Opening up yourself to damage to reduce damage. Better to stay advantaged and maintain pressure imo, be it zoning or rushing down.

Man im so trash. Back down 2 back is so hard to land for me. I wanted to use FS but this move is giving me headaches. Any tips? Or do I just need to git gud?

I agree, fight through it! its not a really hard link or anything. its just awkward - the upside of awkward things is theyre easy to entirely overcome after a certain point. you will hit a point quickly where you never fuck it up again.

If I can make a suggestion, I'd say do a half circle forward motion instead of the awkward B,D. Firestorm doesn't have qcf move, so it will come out. You can honestly even do db,d,df+2 and it comes out. So much easier that way.

I'll be updating the OP again tonight, guys.

One stupid question for everyone - is there a way to turn on competitive mode in practice? I want to make sure the damages I'm posting are all in competitive.
