Does MK11 have a 'mercy' mechanic after all?

I remember reading about different achievement related leaks and mercy was mentioned. Has this been confirmed either way?

Never heard that it has. We’ll know closer to the release date.
I find that feature pointless.

I don't think they'd put something in the stress test, but we'd have to know the command for it and I don't think anyone knows what it is.

I've taken a lot of my matches to Round 3 to test different ways to do a Mercy but haven't did one yet. I think that were getting Stage Animalities instead of Kharacter ones.
