DOA 6 BETA #2 IS AVAILABLE NOW Till 2/24 & EVO Scandal?

Anyways, A 2nd Beta will be open by the end of THIS MONTH, 2/23/19, for PS4 AND Xbox included this time! The biggest change in this beta from the first one is that ALL CHARACTERS WILL BE PLAYABLE! That's right! You get to play 24 characters in the beta and open to everybody on those platforms!

Also, it seems there was a bit of controversy at EVO Japan that made DOA 6 the most talked about currently. It made the Head Hancho or EVO, Mr. Wizard, even put out a statement. YIKES!

I agree with what he said. I don't think they should have shown silly photo mode shenanigans at EVO, that seems unprofessional to me and something that should be kept for personal Twitch or YT streams for the laughs.

At the end of the day, it boils down to EVO basically not getting their shit together. These things should have been known before this happened. THEN the statement is not turned into a meme. OH MY SWEET GURKENS you should see FGC Twitter and Reddit. But nonetheless....I will give this one more try. Even though I was hella turned off by the first beta being complete utter trash, at least they stepped they game up to make this happen. And im here for it BUT IF IT SUCKS im done with this game.

Nudity wasn't shown so why make a big deal out of a photo mode that's in a lot modern triple a games.
Everyone knows sexual content sales and all they're doing is showcasing their game.
It's always some bullshit with doa and evo. Why not just let team ninja know you don't want their game at there event. It would make shit hell of a lot easier for both ends. Playing favoritism is not the ideal path to take some times. You don't see tekken or soul calibur getting this kind of treatment.

Wizard made the right call. You can't let that kind of content go out without a warning. How did this slip past EVO's review process? Did they just take it as a given that the content would be safe for work, or was there a switchup?

People are gonna meme everything lmao. Make a mistake, and you'll be entered in the hall of internet memes. XD I saw some gameplay of the beta it looked really lackluster but from the recent footage we saw. it looks better.

Its basically a lock at EVO already. They announced their world tour, there's no way they don't already have their dates set in contractual stone. And no world tour is complete without an EVO date. Nothing Mr Wiz can do except sit there and be owned.

How do you figure it's a "lock"? KT isn't exactly a top-tier publisher that can promise much, DOA doesn't get tournament turnout, and the brand is fairly toxic to begin with. If anything, KT has to work to convince TOs to include their product against their better judgment.

Even if DOA was a hot franchise (it isn't), they have to convince Evo stakeholders that the benefits of inclusion outweigh the potential risk of sponsorship loss. This isn't impossible, but this stunt certainly hurt their chances.

Because these things aren't done on a handshake and a hotdog, there is already contracts in place. That's the way esports works. Tournament turnout is basically the least important thing nowadays as its all about sponsorships and outside funding.

That said DoA5 has had comparatively strong tournament turnout to boot despite being a "dead game" for the last 3 or so years, and DoA6 is poised to make much stronger forays into the tournament scene.

Once again they don't announce a tour and then make deals after the fact, this shits already locked in.

There probably aren't binding contracts in place at this point. Even if there is paper, contracts for this type of event would almost certainly include discretionary termination clauses. For all Evo knows, the game will be a unfinished nightmare of a product so they wouldn't sign a contract that FORCES them to feature it 5+ months in future.

FYI, not much in the world of business works like that. Unless the offer is white hot, you don't sign away your ability to bail until money starts being spent.

I really hope that this UNBELIEVABLY SCANDALOUS CONTROVERSY gets noticed by more mainstream media.

I've seen that crap with a couple of games like for example "Kingdom Come Deliverance", where a certain group of people interested in a certain type of politics called the game racist, even though it was just being historically accurate. They wanted to bury the game, but instead the game got major backing from gamers, who were defending it against the fake outrage.

Now if that certain group of people, who are interested in a certain type of politics starts attacking DOA 6 for its sexyness, expect the game to sell far more than it would have otherwise. And that's a good thing for the game, for the developer, for the future of the franchise and even the fighting game community - since all of that would attract even gamers, who aren't necessarily into fighting games.

This to me is two different cultures not understanding each other. To the people who where hired by Wizard to run EVO Japan thought there was nothing wrong with that segment because the Japanese advertise sex in other things in the same way.

Wizard has to make a statement like that because over here a segment like that is consider sexist and would get someone in a company fired if they did that here.

The reverse would probably happen if a famous Japanese tournament had a American variant over here and they showed MK11 fatalities in slow mo constantly the Japanese head probably shut it down in Japan and give a statement over there because gore and violence is a serious issue over there. MK isn't released over there for that reason.
