Ok seriously, could you guys start a proper Green arrow guide? I am picking up my copy in a couple of hours and I have not really seen that much Arrow stuff.

Does he have overhead/low starters?
Is he a true zoner or more a jack-of-all-trades ?
Which characters should I avoid facing?
Which characters can I expect to rape?
 
I would consider him more of a jack-of-all-trades kinda char. I play as him and haven't lost many matches online. You just have to adjust your playstyle consistently. I do have trouble with green lantern
 
I do have a question: I've been trying to main Green Arrow and by all accounts I would say I was a low/med-low player. I've been perusing the active combo thread and watching the videos posted, however, I just don't see how you guys are getting an arrow off in-between combos. Like.. the 113 to E. Arrow. Mine always misses, regardless of standing or crouching. Am I supposed to be doing something besides hitting b after the 113?

act like is all one big combo, no pausing between the 3 and the 4, just mash that shit out. 1,1,3,4. You don't touch the d-pad while you are doing the 1,1,3,4 string.

I'm playing around with the short combo "queens gambit" in the corner and found that you can do it into the slide and combo from that, but its tight. Any suggestions on how I can extend this before trying to resort to ice arrow shenanigans?

pretty much its corner only f2,d1,3,bf3,??????

f2d13, 11, 111~db1, 111~load arrow = 36%
f2d13, 111~db1, 111~slide = 38% and slightly easier

Good stuff there, but I'm specifically trying to see if there is a follow up to using BF3 after Queen's gambit just to see what the maximum potential of slipping it in turns out to be. Otherwise I'd use the 46% combo outright that Cossner quoted already.

I'm just trying to experiment and see how many different approaches I can use in combos off of this idea in the corner to see if it nets anything interesting. The meter build might be a reason to do this if I can keep it going cheaply enough and net enough damage to make this worth it.

You just made my day. He can combo off a raw slide in the corner. That's going to be awesome for footsies, whiff punishing, mix ups, etc.
Slide, d1~savage blast = 15%
Slide, 11, 111~hurricane bow = 30%
Slide, d1~freeze, nj2, b2~up haven, 111~sky alert, 111~slide = 43%

I'm sure more is possible but that's a start.

What is his best non meter, non arrow specific midscreen combo? I'm using 112, ji2, 223 Hurricane Bow now but I can rarely hit it due to the ji2. I need one for those situations when I don't have an arrow loaded up.

Yeah this is a good question. I used D1 and D2 a lot but He's gotta have better wakeups than that.

I was just thinking to myself the other day if only this guy had a good low. I think he really has the potential to keep opponents locked down feeling helpless in the corner just by hanging out at jump distance.
 
When do you guys switch arrows and what arrow do you switch to? Like what arrow for what situation? I see that electric and ice arrows are good in combos. Say, if I need electric arrows to extend a combo, but I already have the wrong arrow equipped, do you just settle for a lower damage combo, or do you switch up arrows beforehand with the intent of opening somebody up for a combo? I usually try to always have an ice arrow ready, but I play really heavy rushdown. If I'm getting zoned by someone I usually try to switch to the fire arrows because those have a knockdown. It really just depends on the situation, but most of the time I go for the ice arrow.
 
Alright, I am having a lot of trouble vs raven as Green Arrow. If I am in range of her force grab, she cant just keep throwing out her projectile until I stand and move. Online I felt like I could only move a step or before I was force squeezed. This is mainly when I dont have a special arrow ready to go, she can force squeeze during the load up. Any tips on this matchup? I know I can dash after a blocked squeeze, but I dont think its blockable on reaction after standing up from her other prjectile?
 
I seem to be doing pretty well putting together a majority of combos leading with 113 and 223 but GA trait is incredibly important to keep him on par with a lot of the characters. I've seen people talk about cancel loading an arrow. I seem to be having issues when it comes to loading arrows. When are the good times to load arrows? Do I just have to be faster when it comes to loading after a combo? If you miss a load or load at the wrong time it seems easily punishable.
 
You basically want to load up an arrow at te end of your combos, replacing the special move of your choice (i.e. Hurricane Bow or Stinger) with load arrow. If you score a knocksown like with jump 3 you can actually load up an arrow while they are getting up. You never really want to load up an arrow in neutral because people can react and punish. If you cancel into arrow from f2 d1 3 string you are safe to my knowledge. Same with b1 3.
 
I have question but it's not based on his move list or strats......i wanna know how many costumes r available for him. I have 2 but i've seen a third....from the tv show. How in the hell do u get that one?

You had to be one of the first hundred or so people to vote on a battle arena, and NRS would email you the code.

It'll probably be available for others for soon though.
