Guide Dealing with Wake-ups

Drizzle

Jump and shoot.
Aquaman

Trident Rush - Stuffable
FTD - Stuffable
Water Shield - Stuffable
Trident Scoop - Stuffable. If you happen to block it while Aquaman has trait, punish with b2~lasso. If he does not have trait, you can punish with b113 assuming you're in range.
Trident Toss - Stuffable

Ares

N/A

Bane

Without venom, his only fully-invincible wake-up is Venom Uppercut.

With venom:

Body Press: Neutral jump punish or MB b3/f3
Raging Charge: 33 will beat the armor before it comes out, but b23 or b2~lasso will not.
Double Punch: Neutral jump punish or MB b3/f3
Venom Uppercut: MB f3 can work but depending on the timing, the MB follow-up may hit you. If you bait it out and just block, you have to guess whether or not the Bane player will MB it. If he doesn't, you can punish with b113. If he does the MB version and delays it, it's safe on block but there's a gap that's vulnerable to MB b3/f3, forward dash or parry. In the case of the latter I suggest punishing with d1~spin or 23 because sometimes b113 will whiff.
Rising Slam: Stuffable. Won't work vs frontal pressure.

Batgirl

Smoke Bomb - Stuffable with early b2 but beats 33.
Batarang - Stuffable
Flying Bat - Fully invincible so you have to bait it and block. The easiest punish is 23 because if you're too early, Batgirl will still be airborne and you'll be able to adjust your combo and do 23, b3, j3, b1, b113~lasso. If she's on the ground then do 23, 23, b3, j3, b113~lasso. If you want something easy then you can punish with d2.
Redemption - Stuffable
Bat Evade - Not fully invincible. Loses to b2 with the same timing as Smoke Bomb, but goes over 33.
Bat-Wheel - Stuffable but the timing is very difficult.
Bab's Bola - Stuffable

Her wake-ups are difficult to deal with but Wonder Woman has a safe jump that's very useful here. End a combo in lasso grab, dash, jump forward and hit j2 as you're above her head. It's a little hard to explain in text but it's very easy once you get it down.

Smoke Bomb - Gets stuffed or blocked
Batarang - Stuffed
Flying Bat - Cannot be safe jumped
Bat Evade - Either gets stuffed and full combo punished or Batgirl gets hit out of the air by the j2
Bat-Wheel - Stuffed and punished
Bab's Bola - Stuffed

Backdash also gets punished. This forces Batgirl to start waking up with Flying Bat which you can punish easily.

Batman

Straight Grapple - Stuffable
Sky Grapple - Stuffable
Batarang - stuffable
Up Batarang - Stuffable
Slide Kick - Invincible enough that the best you can do is trade with it. MB b3 or block and punish with d1~spin or 33.
Cape Parry - Loses to lows/jump attacks

The same safe jump works here as well, but use j3 instead of j2. If you use j2, Batman can dash forward out of the setup but j3 covers both dashes. If he wakes up with slide, you can dash forward and punish with d1~spin or 33.

Black Adam

Lightning Storm - Stuffable
Black Magic - Stuffable
Lightning Cage - Fully invincible and -2 on block. MB version is +4. Must be neutral jump punished or MB b3/f3'd.
Lightning Strike - Stuffable
Lightning Bomb (all versions) - Stuffable

Catwoman

Cat Claws - Stuffable
Cat Dash - Stuffable
Straight Whip - Stuffable
Up Whip - Stuffable
High Feline Evade - Stuffable. Will beat b2 but lose to 33.
Low Feline Evade - Stuffable. Loses to b2 and 33.
Cat Stance - Stuffable
Trait - Fully invincible. Neutral jump punish or MB b3/f3.

Cyborg

Nova Blaster - Stuffable
Power Fist - Fully invincible. Block and Punish with b113.
Techno Tackle - Stuffable. Cyborg is considered airborne if you stuff it so you'll have to adjust your 33 combo and do 33, b1, b113~lasso.
Sonic Disruptor - Stuffable
Target Acquired - Stuffable
Up Sonic Disruptor - Stuffable
Forward/Back Grapple - Has armor and cannot be stuffed.

Deathstroke

Quick Fire - Stuffable
Low Shots - Stuffable
Machine Gun - Stuffable
Upward Machine Gun - Stuffable
Sword Spin - Fully invincible and -6 on block (safe). Can be neutral jumped or d3'd under and punished with d1~spin.
Sword Flip - Fully invincible and very unsafe on block. Punish with b113.

Doomsday

Air Snatch - Stuffable. Loses to frontal pressure.
Venom - Stuffable
Upward Venom - Invincible enough that the best you can do is trade with it. If you choose to block and punish it, hold down so the MB follow-up can't cross you up. Punish with b113. Can be d3'd under and if not MB'd, punish with b113. If MB'd, punish with b3, f3 or b2~lasso grab.
Earth Shake - Stuffable
Supernova - Stuffable

Flash

Speed Dodge - Beats single hits. If you do b2~lasso the b2 will whiff, but he'll be forced to block the lasso and you'll be at +17. 33 beats it.
Lightning Charge - Invincible enough that the best you can do is trade with it. Crouch block in case he MBs it and punish with b113.
Lightning Kick - Stuffable
Sonic Pound - Stuffable
Flying Uppercut - Fully invincible and very unsafe if blocked. Sometimes Flash will land on the opposite side and if you try to punish with b113 without going to neutral first, you'll whiff a parry. To avoid this problem you can punish with 11~spin. The damage difference is negligible.
Running Man Stance - Stuffable

The previously mentioned safe jump works here too; this time with an early j3.

Speed Dodge - Gets hit by j3 into combo.
Lightning Charge - Gets hit by j3 into combo.
Lightning Kick - Gets hit by j3 into combo.
Sonic Pound - Gets hit by j3 into combo.
Flying Uppercut - Gets hit by j3 into combo, or sometimes whiffs. In the case of the latter, punish with b113.
Running Man Stance - Gets hit by j3 into combo.

Backdash also gets caught by j3.

Green Arrow

Sky Alert - Stuffable but can beat aerial pressure.
Dead On - Stuffable
Savage Blast - Stuffable, but because he moves so far back it beats most things. Read and punish with j3, b2~lasso or MB b3.
Stinger - Fully invincible but unsafe on block. Punish with b113, jump back 3 or MB b3. MB version is +.
Up Haven Blast - Stuffable
Hurricane Bow - Stuffable

Green Lantern

Oa's Rocket - Stuffable
Rocket Power - Stuffable
Lantern's Might - Invincible enough that the best you can do is trade with it. Block and punish with b113.
Minigun - Stuffable
Turbine Smash - Stuffable

There's a different safe jump that works on all of Lantern's wake-ups except turbine and super. End a combo in sweep, dash forward and do nj3. Lantern's Might whiffs and both of his dashes get caught.

Harley Quinn

Pop Pop - Stuffable
Line of Fire - Stuffable
Heads up - Stuffable
Cupcake Bomb - Stuffable
Play Doctor - Stuffable
Silly Slide - Stuffable
Tantrum Stance - Fully invincible. Loses to MB b3/f3. On block Harley has a few options:
  • TS1 - block and d1~spin punish
  • TS2 - block and b113 punish
  • TS 3 - block and b113 punish
  • Roll forward - d1~punish
  • Roll Backward - react and dash forward d1~spin punish
Hawkgirl

Mace Charge - Stuffable but will beat some things because of the backwards movement. Safe on block. Stuff with late b2, early f3 or b3. b3 and f3 need to be done as early as possible to work. These beat all of her other wake-ups as well. Jump back 3 will also work.
Mace Toss - Stuffable
Up Mace - Stuffable
Wing Evade - Same as Mace Charge

Joker

Crowbar - Stuffable
Laughing Gas - Stuffable
Rolling Laughing Gas - Stuffable
BANG! - Stuffable
Chattering Teeth - Stuffable
Acid Blossom - Not fully invincible but very difficult to stuff with b2/33. Easy to stuff with d3, however, with the same timing as other wake-ups. If you're too early the Acid Blossom will whiff and you can still go for pressure. Also loses to MB b3/f3 and neutral jumps.

Killer Frost

Frostbite - Parries mids, loses to lows/jump attacks
Iceberg - Stuffable
Flash Freeze - Stuffable
Black Ice - Fully invincible and safe on block. Loses to MB b3 and jump back 3.
Frozen Daggers - Stuffable

Killer Frost is another character that can be safe jumped. End a combo in lasso grab, dash forward and j3. Slide whiffs and you can punish it with 23. Every other wake-up loses and so do her dashes.

Lex Luthor

Gravity Pull - Stuffable
Gravity Mine - Stuffable
Orbital Strike - Stuffable
Lex Probe - Stuffable
Lance Blast - Stuffable
Up Lance Blast - Stuffable
Corp Charge - Fully invincible and very unsafe on block.Punish with b113 or MB b3/f3 it.

Lobo

Spin Cycle - Stuffable and loses to frontal pressure.
Pump Shot - Stuffable
Czarian Toss - Stuffable
Space Hook - Stuffable
Low Space Hook - Stuffable
Hook Charge - Not fully invincible but very difficult to stuff with b2/33. Loses to MB b3/f3. Normal version is unsafe on block so punish with d1~spin. MB version is +3.

Martian Manhunter

Martian Grab - Invincible enough that the best you can do is trade with it. Loses to MB b3/f3 or can be blocked and punished with d1~spin.
Psyche Orb - Stuffable. Close version is throw immune.
Alien Pillar - Stuffable
Telekenetic Strike - Stuffable
Psionic Push - Fully invincible and safe on block. Loses to MB b3/f3. Can be d3'd under and punished with d1~spin.
Phase Assault/Downward Phase Assault - Stuffable

Nightwing (Escrima)

Ground Spark - Stuffable
Escrima Fury - Fully invincible but very unsafe on block. Punish with b113. Loses to MB b3/f3 and can be d3'd under and punished with b113.
Flip kick - Stuffable by b2 but will go over 33. Normal version is -4 and MB version is +1. Can be d3'd under; however it must be done as early as possible or the MB version will hit you.
Scatter Bomb - Stuffable

Nightwing (Staff)

Staff Spin - Stuffable but with different timing than Flying Grayson. Normal version is -6 (safe) and MB version is +18. Can also be punished by dashing forward twice after lasso grab, jumping forward, quickly airdashing back and doing j2.
Ground Blast - Stuffable
Flying Grayson - Stuffable but with different timing than Staff Spin. If stuffed it Nightwing is considered airborne so you will have to adjust your 33 combo and do 33, b1, b113~lasso. Also punishable by jump back 3.

Raven

Empty Void - Stuffable
Soul Crush - Stuffable
Singularity - Stuffable
Shadow Raven - Stuffable
Negative Mass (Demon Stance) - Stuffable
Front Dark Transmission (Demon Stance) - Stuffable
Behind Dark Transmission (Demon Stance) - Avoids b2/33. Read and punish with jump back 3.

Scorpion

Bloody Spear - Stuffable
Hell Fire - Stuffable
Teleport Punch - Stuffable by early b2 but beats 33. Normal version can be d3'd under and punished with d1~spin. MB version will hit you.
Leg Takedown - Fully invincible but very unsafe on block. Punish with b113. Loses to MB b3.
Flip Kick - Fully invincible but unsafe on block. Punish with d1~spin. Can be d3'd under and punished with d1~spin. Also loses to MB b3/f3.

Shazam

Atlas Torpedo - Stuffable
Bolt of Zeus - Stuffable
Herculean Might - Stuffable
Achilles' Clutch - Stuffable
Advancing Mercury Storm - Fully invincible. If you read it, punish with jump back 3.
Eluding Mercury Storm - Fully invincible. If you read it, punish with jump forward 3.

Sinestro

Fear Blast - Stuffable
Impact Event - Stuffable
Arachnid Sting - Fully invincible but unsafe on block. Punish with d1~spin. Also loses to MB b3/f3.
Final Shackles - Stuffable

Solomon Grundy

Cleaver Spin - Fully invincible. Normal version is very unsafe on block. Punish with b113. MB version is +3. Both lose to MB b3/f3.
Walking Corpse - Armors through most options. No great counters.
Grave Rot - Stuffable
Dead Air - Loses to frontal pressure.
Swamp Hands - Stuffable but the MB version has armor and will beat b2. Both versions are + on block. Loses to MB b3/f3.

Superman

Super Breath - Stuffable
Heat Vision - Stuffable
Rising Grab - Stuffable but will go over 33. Loses to early b2 but timing may be different from stuffing breath. On block, punish with d1~spin. If ducked and it whiffs, punish with 23, b3, j3, b1, b113~lasso.
Flying Punch - Stuffable by b2 but goes over 33. Normal version is unsafe so punish with b113. MB version is -6 (safe) and has armor.
Heat Zap - Stuffable
Low Scoop - Fully invincible but very unsafe on block. Punish with b113.

Wonder Woman (Lasso)

Straight Tiara - Stuffable
Amazonian Uppercut - Stuffable. Loses to d3. If d3'd under, punish with 23, b3, j3, b1, b113~lasso.
Lasso Grab - Stuffable
Lasso Spin - Fully invincible but unsafe on block. Punish with d1~spin or 11~spin. Loses to d3. If d3'd under, punish with d1~spin or 11~spin.
Bracelets of Submission - Parries mids but loses to lows/jump-ins
Up Tiara - Stuffable

Wonder Woman (Sword)

Shield Toss - Stuffable
Amalthea Bash - Stuffable
Shield Strike - Parries mids but loses to early 33/jump-ins.
Up Shield - Stuffable

All of these wake-ups in addition to her backdash lose to d3.

Linking Rings - Stuffable
Teleport in Front - Avoids b2 but will get hit by the second hit of 33.
Teleport Behind - Fully invincible. Read and punish with jump back 3.
Teleport Away - Fully invincible. Read and punish with jump forward 3.
Multi Kick - Fully invincible. Normal version is unsafe; punish with d1~spin. MB version is -3. Loses to nj 3.
Puppet Master - Stuffable
Smoke and Mirrors - Stuffable
Fifty Two Pickup - Stuffable

Zod

Side Arm - Stuffable
Kryptonian Rifle - Stuffable
Zod Charge - Stuffable. Loses to MB b3/f3.
Ground Blast - Stuffable
Phantom Strike - Stuffable. Loses to MB b3/f3.
General Parry - Parries mids but loses to lows/jump-ins.

You can safe jump Zod by ending a combo with lasso grab, dashing forward and jumping forward with j2. All of his wake-ups get stuffed along with his backdash.

If there's anything I've missed feel free to let me know. I left out Ares because I don't know of any good way to pressure him on wake-up.

Thanks for posting this helpful guide. You might want to add that upward venom can be d3'd under. If he the up venom isn't MB'd she can punish with b113, if the up venom is MB'd he is safe.

Added. Also, the MB version is actually still punishable if you d3 under. You can punish with b3, f3, or b2~lasso.

I love d3 to avoid Martians psy push. It's such a good wake up they nearly always use it so you're usually guarenteed a free combo after your first knock down. Found out last night online that hawkgirls b22 sting does the same which can be pretty deadly for him if he's cornered.

Very late but keep in mind that most of the safe jump setups won't work vs delayed wake-ups.
