Question - Kobu Jutsu Can Tanya still delay ex rekka for plus frames?

Title.
I'm getting back into MK and I read through the latest patch seeing that you can no longer delay regular rekka but can still delay ex rekka. I took it into the lab and I cannot get the final rekka (Tonfa push) to be plus or even neutral.
Perhaps I am not doing full delay but I would be so appreciative if someone better than myself confirms or denys if the delay on ex rekka gives plus frames still.
Maybe max delay doesn't make it safe anymore and this was in a previous patch that I didn't catch, I do not know.

Yeah I understand that. My question is can you still get plus frames from delaying it? I tried it and I could not.
I really don't think so. Pretty sure that was one of the things people were complaining about. I'd rather she had better normals tbh. 112 and f2 are her best moves and her f2 at i13 is pretty average compared to other similar advancing mids. B312 is okay in Pyro but gaps all over. Her pokes aren't great either.

That's absolute garbage imo. Thanks for your response. Was the changes of the frame data for delayed rekkas documented anywhere by NRS? If not, this could possibly be a bug that need to be fixed or a really bad stealth nerf.

I think it wasn't stealth just happened a while back?

  • Tanya (Kobu Jutsu) - Reduced the pushback on block from the last hit of Tonfa Swipe
This is the only thing I found and this is from the 9/21/2015 update. This does not really explain it, especially considering fully delayed second rekka after the first ex rekka is still only -4 on block with max delay but with no delay is -4 on block. Try this out in the lab. I can't think of an explanation. You get no more plus frames with delays and it was not in any patch notes, leading me to believe that it's a bug or a stealth nerf.

I feel like they mentioned it during the stream but I couldn't find it. It's pretty minus after full delay now. Doesn't look safe at all. You can always stay safe by only doing the first two reps or meter burning the third rep so it's not a big deal at all. I think Kobu Jutsu is in a good place right now. She has a safe armored wakeup and armor that launches. Her movement got buffed while others movement got nerfed.

I see where you are coming from. The fact that this change is completely undocumented makes me believe that this is a bug. Pair that with the fact that one form of the rekka is able to be delayed and the other cannot be delayed but both achieve the same frames. Why keep the ex rekka delay if it does nothing? It doesn't make sense.

@RevetLeafing would you mind looking into this? I don't frequent tym much to know others who play tanya but I know you are a Tanya enthusiast who might have some answers.
There is no longer any way whatsoever to make the last rekka safe. And that is fine, just end with 2nd meterburned rekkas for -4 or end with regular rekka rising Tonfa which is -2. Kobu plays completely different npw. if you do not have meter, I would suggest you stagger with her safest strings, b3 1 f2 etc.
