the old man reflexes thing is a total myth. What it is, is that video games are a children's pastime. Sure people of all ages play, but only kids have the time to play the kind of levels needed to be good enough to excel.
Once the FGC has more money and eSports is more mainstream the average age of players will rise as 99% of them won't have to stop playing to feed their kids by working a normal job or moving to casting / streaming.
The age of the evo is because of how underdeveloped esports is as a way to make a serious living.
