Atrocitus Matchup Chart (Updated Post Patch)

[Basic Stupidity]

Im starting to think darkseid loses to atro. at first i thought because darkseids mb laser goes through shield he won the mu but now im having second thoughts after throughly playing the MU.

Darkseids entire playstyle basically revolves around his trait like atro but his trait isnt as good as atros.

Basically, whenever darkseid doesnt have trait theres nothing he can really do but shoot lasers until trait comes back. because of this atro doesnt really get punished as often when he doesnt have his trait out or atleast not as much as he would against a regular character that doesnt attack in bursts. So, the MU just devolves down to fullscreen darkseid shooting laser, atro looking to punish with lift and waiting for his trait. darkseid doesnt do any damage to atro and atro just gets his trait back gets in and mixes. Now you could say but now darkseid has meter to push block. Maybe he does but he needs that meter for his combo launchers and his mb lasers to hit atro out of his shield. If he did just use that meter for pushblock he never actually deals any damage.
On top of this atro can punish any trait summon from darkseid with just a lift. Not only does darkseid struggle to punish atro when his traits down but when darkseids trait is up he still has a hard time enforcing anything.

Disagree w Canary. Atrocitus can never press anything in footsie range besides puddle allowing her to get in much easier due to the fear of being parried for a full combo. She parries everything besides his jump in. He's weak to her on knockdown, lvl 2/3 punishes puddle,and the cat games are less scarier now post patch and also level 3 for a through shield so he can't just shield up and run at us. That plays in our favor because his trait is steady running out during that. I think this is a clean 5-5. I actually just ran this a bit last night too

Cheetah beats him 6-4 IMO, he can't just pop out trait without her getting a pounce jump 3, He can't low puddle her as pounce 1 will catch it. Dive bomb stops shield and he can't wake up on her.

This is going to sound controversial

But I think Cyborg beats Atros

If you play vs a competent Cyborg who can do grappling hook on command and who actually push blocks good luck

His fireballs are great vs Atros as they shut down his mobility, the ability to access Trait and he evades Trait balls pretty good with his fireball game and if you trade you get nothing, when you get in he just grapple hooks out, he always has meter to pushblock

I think Grodd can go even or maybe beat Atrocitus. Whenever Atrocitus calls the cat Grodd can activate projectile immunity and nullify Dex starr, His meterburn stampede goes through the shield of Atrocitus that Dex starr puts on him. His projectile immunity also makes Atrocitus drop his combos because it goes through the meter burn puddle.

The only thing kind of hard is going through those blood spits (the anti air one and the ground one) that he can kind of spam in the neutral against Grodd.

Swamp Thing should be even. I think his footsies are good enough to handle Atrocitus. Don't see why Swamp would lose
