Any musicians out there?

Hey everyone! I could not find a forum for this so I decided to start this one. Any musicians out there? Thought it would be interesting to see if we have many musicians in our community that would like a place to share their work!

Yeah. I'm a solo guitarist, been playing for 10 years now and only recently started to get into actually recording my music as of a few months ago, probably around December. I'd like to say I'm pretty proficient at the guitar and have a good understanding of music theory, but all the bands I listen to and am inspired by are pretty technical (far more than I am lol) so I always found it hard to start writing.

Exactly the problem with any music instrument, the things you are into take too much execution to handle. It’s like being a scrub who wants to play Hellfire Scorp with fireball cancels.

I'm also addicted to guitar gear which doesn't help either lol.

What kind of guitars are you into?
I own a fender strat at the moment, trying to cut down on gear. Always like Ibanez as well if I could get one that didn't look so tacky with black on black on black.

Strats are always cool, I've owned a few before but they never clicked. I own a telecaster and a les paul at the moment. Using a Marshall 40w tube as well. Love he tone

I'm downsizing so I bought an amp from a new (well new to me) company called Quilter. They specialise in small solid state amps which basically can fit on a pedalboard, and are basically all clean. Solid state has come a long way in the last few years I've found, they sound great for what I do which is mostly cleans anyway.

I was tempted to buy a thinline telecaster before but decided against it because money.

Dude, solid state has definitely come a long way. My house amp is a little Yamaha THR and it sounds incredible. Lots of different tones.

That pedal board amp sounds really cool. I'll have to check one out online.

Any samples of your work?

Where my piano players at?
I was classically trained to grade 6 when I was younger. Didn’t play for years, but recently started teaching myself fun little pieces again to engage my memory. Learnt ffvii theme a few months ago and a little piece from Fringe I’ve always loved (The Equation by Chad Seiter). Nothing serious, just writing to say... I dabble....

I also can play bass to an average standard (used to be better when in band) and own a viola I’ve been meaning to start learning for several years.

Piano is my Jam tho. Learning it was somewhat formative.

Play the piano for the last 12 or 13 years, don't even remember.
Was a member of a music band for 5 years, great time

I play a lot of instruments but my best instrument is probably Guitar. I mostly play acoustic stuff, a lot of finger style arrangements. I used to play electric a lot, I still have my 1976 USA made red Fender Telecaster though - love it to pieces, although I actually do prefer a Strat myself :p I also used to have a black 82' Gibson Les Paul Custom but I had to get rid of that - quite heavy to be honest, but it sounded nice.

I used to read sheet music when I was in school but I can't remember how to do it anymore without having to stare intensely at the page. I play everything by ear now.

Right now my interest is the Cajon, I'm messing with it just tapping away but I'm quickly losing interest the more songs I learn which seems to be AGAINST my process for learning an instrument lol. Always wanted to learn to the harmonica but it seems sorta annoying at the same time if I'm honest.

There's no particular music genre I'm super into. I always sorta find SOMETHING about a song that I at least like or can appreciate. At one point I was super into making new uhh 'pieces of art' shall we say with samples in Ableton and whatnot. Then that lead to me making purely electronic music in the chip-tunes sorta genre but after a year I got burned out.

Haven't been playing anything really, in recent times if I'm honest. Yeah, that's me in a nutshell. No a pro musician or anything, just a guy who loves music.
