    It also helps to play a lot, as the more you play, the more throw setups you'll see and the more you'll know when they're coming. Understanding frame data helps too. I'm on if anyone wants to run a set or invite me to a lobby. PSN and CFN are NINfan101

    You could always just do B1 into spear if you have no meter and just end the combo and go for a meaty on KD. Generally speaking though B1 gives me fits so I sometimes try to condition them with grabs and B3.

    I personally like staggering my strings with 1, 11, 111 and F13. Then going in for a grab or smoke bomb. I imagine you could do EX Smoke bomb and try to open your opponent up with a B3/B1.

    It's +8 One thing I noticed about Smoke is that he seems not to benefit a ton from his plus frames. Even though 1112 and 114 are +2, the pushback just resets everything.

Once you understand how to use his gaps in his strings to his advantage and how amazing Phase and EX Phase are, he's actually a solid character.
