You kinda just have to act first, try to think like you're competing with someone to press a button first, cause that's what you are doing. Whenever you jump EXPECT that they are going to jump and be prepared. If you dont punch first, your opponent will. Does this help?

Although Reptile's Ex moves are really helpful, notably Ex slide and Ex spit, his X-Ray can be really useful because it goes through projectiles and can grab the opponent in the air, so I use it when I feel like surprising my opponent by breaking through a projectile and stabbing his eyes...

Ever since I heard about the upcoming patch, I've actually been using Ex slide a lot more and I have found that it is really, really useful. Like probably his most useful Ex move in my opinion. People just don't expect a nearly full screen slide from Reptile because his normal slide is so short...
