Log Kick is actually 2 hit move. The other hit is a small mid melee attack, so that is the one that likely gets parried.
Edit. Yeah, you can parry raw log with wowo if you are next to Swamp Thing but you cant do it at range. Likewise other parries work against melee range Log Kick.
As long as the trait recovery buff is at least 6 frames or more(which it likely is), stuff like b232~MBb3,trait,b232~df2,2 will work midscreen. So yeah, high hopes for trait setups after patch.
To sum up the patch stream:
-Trait recovers much faster
-While standing in trait, you have armor on Vine Grabs but only if it connects
-He can now spread trait with MB roll and f2,1 (and potentially MBdb3? and others)
-Trait can still "grow" after Swamp Thing blocks a move
-More effective...
I feel like they are going to give him mostly "simple" buffs, such as faster s2,b3,f3 and reduced recovery on trait activation. I also think they are going to rework MB db3 somehow.
I would be highly surprised if they buffed his mobility or altered special move inputs. Also many possible...
Assuming you mean "d3 into MB bf3", he can't do that against f2,2~clone. ST's d3 is 2-hitting move and you can only special cancel it if the first hit(closer one) connects. After f2,2~clone Sub-Zero is too far away for the first hit so the d3 just knocks him down. It might work against other...
Swamp Thing
1. 50/50 mix ups and/or pressure 3/5 (I'm being generous here)
2. Zoning and anti-zoning 1/5
3. Neutral game and footsies 3/5
4. Defensive options 2/5
5. Damage output 3/5
12/25
I began to type more in-depth answers but then I just got sad. We'll see after next patch.
His main issue is his frame data. Everything is full of holes, does not link well together or is just so damn slow. Some examples:
-db3 is 30 frames, high. His main "counterzoning" tool. Hard to get out. Trades always poorly(does 6% damage). Shaving off around 5 frames might help. Also would...
Unintended inputs are a popular topic these days so here’s something similar.
Imagine you are playing against Deadshot and you trying to work your way in. You keep ducking his shots and slowly make your way closer. Then he pulls out his rifle and you get ready to block. You duck the same exact...
I was testing this today and like you said, meaty d2~df2 always connects. Midscreen it works after df2,2 , db2, d2 ,b2323 and b223. Sadly it does not seem to work after f23~db1.
Funny thing is that if you misstime your d2 and the grab whiffs on hit, you actually have time to dash and do it...
I don't have that much match up experience against every zoner but on paper Arrow seems to have a fighting chance against most characters. His unique ability to fire back while ducking is great against high projectiles.
