I love Charlotte's new design, looks really good. A shame the others haven't gotten a bit of a redesign as well though.

Just noticed fucking YOSHITORA, SHIKI, TAM TAM AND HANZO ARE IN!!! :D ♥♥♥

So happy! Now I just need Asura and Sogetsu, then I'm good. ^^

Mr. Righteous
My two favs are Earthquake and Charlotte and both are indeed back! I watched the 22 gameplay vid from IGN and the beginning of another one that was 44mins. I must say i did noticed a couple of things that made me go Hmmmmmmmm....

I LOVED how they made this game more bloody by actually showing the damage you do to your opponent. BUT all of a sudden, after certain animations the blood just disappears? Thats quite odd...And not sure if they kept decapitations/body slicing back but i didnt notice any of that yet.

I mean, this is an early build so im sure those things will get ironed out. But the game looks beautiful and all the dialogue i remember when each character attacks is all there. Hell, even the referee sounds the same! Im looking forward to this game. Righteous ;)

Game is looking awesome. One of the 4 fighters I'll be playing in 2019. Just got Battle for the Grid also.

Just spent most of the morning digesting as much of the new footage as I could find. I'm super hype rn, just need more footage of Shiki asap.

Bomb Setups & Ball Rolls(Mileena/Cyrax)
I can see you all like this game. Maybe I should try it. My problem is the graphics don't look current for 2019 and more PS2/PS3 graphics. Nothing like what we are seeing now on XB1 X and PS4 Pro with games like Mortal Kombat 11 which just blow my mind.

It has begun
I remember playing one of these games back on the original PSX. I was very young at the time so I didn't understand the mechanics very well, let alone understand the core concepts of a fighting game.

For those of you who have experience with the series, what would you describe it like? Footsies, heavy execution, combo heavy..?

Most of my time will go into MK11 when it releases, but I wouldn't mind this as a palet cleanser of sorts. Especially if Ukyo is in.

All too easy...

It is essentially 100% footsies with big big reward for reads. Heavy attacks on counter hit will get you 30% in one hit but are unsafe. Supers do ridiculous damage but can be used only once. Combos are really only a single hit cancelled into specials. Game is all about neutral and punishing mistakes. You will be opening yourself up in this game more than your opponent opens you up.

Definetly something to look forward to! First DOA in 2019, now this!? Man, i love this shit!
I think DoA's hyper-sexulisation of its characters makes some players write it off... but imo it is a legit fighter .. a lot of fun to play and detailed enough to support its own competitive scene.

Wow I haven’t played this in decades. It looks great I will definitely pick this up. I will probably be playing Mortal Kombat though.

Too bad YOU... will DIE!
Actually not crazy about the new Charlotte design -- I liked the more androgynous knight look she had before. This looks a little bit like a saloon girl lol

Psyched to see Shiki, was not expecting that!

God I HEAVILY dislike that Charlotte design especially with her being the only one to get redesigned

Everything else is dope though

It's the hair. Both Charlotte and Ukyo are sporting ponytails now. And being a prequel to 1 and 2 means Charlotte has her long hair again. I'm guessing they're having trouble doing long flowing hair and it's simpler to just ponytail them up.

I'm a bit lost here, so the game has 2 parries?
The SS2 parry which is the just defend that allows you to recover faster from blocked attacks now?
And the SS3 parry which has more active frames but has longer whiff recovery

is that it? pls confirm if this is, it looks awesome so far.

They also added a lot of things from other samurai games but very well implemented
Throws now have grab animation and recovery
Now you can step dodge attacks and whiff punish.
Zetsumei are back but are a huge all or nothing risk reward mechanic, since it gives you the zetsumei at cost of doing a one time great deal of damage, they are largely unsafe and once you burn you power gauge you are not getting it back until the game ends.
However powers are still there and do exactly what they were meant for, sword disarm while dealing damage and once it times out you can charge it again, great stuff

It seems to have both just defend and SS5SP deflects.

There's no Zetsumei Ougi (at least in this build). Instead, it's Issen that's now tied to Rage Explosion instead of State of Nothingness (which is also gone).

That said, we do get a new move they've called a Super Special Move that can only be done once per match (does not reset between rounds), but doesn't require meter. You can even do this after you've destroyed your meter during Rage Explosion.
