General/Other - Master of Souls MOS Jailing & The "Blind Reset"

Originally I had planned on doing a video focusing on 2 parts. The first was going to be a touch up on modifying some of Master of Soul's combos to get more meter without sacrificing too much damage. The second was going to be an overlooked frame trap in the MOS Tool set. However, the video became much longer than I intended, so I decided to cut the first part and focus entirely on the Frame Trap.

This isn't an unknown set up, just one that most people forget. I did, until EVB/ADM Echo brought up the latter half of the set up in a clip he showed me a few weeks ago. Since most didn't know about it, I decided to touch on it as well.

Soul Release is somewhere around +17 maybe even a bit more. So anything Ermac does grounded is essentially guaranteed if you detonate next to the opponent. Without meter, the opponent can't move without risk of being counter hit. With meter you're only fear is forward advancing armor.
So there are 3 possible outcomes.

1) The opponent uses forward advancing armor.
2) They block and are at severe disadvantage
3) They don't block/move and get launched with a "Blind Reset" (10:22 time stamp)

The Blind Reset isn't a glitch, it's actually working properly. You can only trigger Soul Release during the hitstun/active frames of the Soul Ball and in this case you're triggering the Soul Release during the last frames of hitstun of the Soul Ball, so when the active frames of Soul Release begin the hitstun and therefore active frames of Soul Ball are over and the Soul Release works like a reset instead of comboing. Basically if you do Soul Release and the active frames begin while the hitstun of Soul Ball are still active it will combo, otherwise the Soul Release triggers outside the frames where it'll combo and you get that reset instead. I doubt it'd get nerfed because it's not really a glitch so you'll most likely get to have fun with it as long as you like!

I was playing against an Ermac player last night and this is exactly what he/she did but only better and destroyed me in the corners especially.

I'll play around with it a bit more. Aside from advancing armor I've yet to find a real weak point to it. Either they block and I'm plus, or they don't and get launched.

If they can armor it then they can backdash it no? Make the whole the soul release whiff and just get out?
