Krypton is ok.. I never really liked it but I am interested to see their take on Lobo next season.

I'm not sure how this character could exist on TV... unless it was on Prime or Netflix or something and was about to go full hard R with the violence. I think Krypton is take a page from Gotham's playbook... as in just embracing the crazy and letting the writers go nuts on it. So maybe they can pull it off in S2 for me.

If you, for some unfathomable reason, like Preacher.. then you might be interested in Ennis's other infantile and needlessly cruel and vulgar comic... The Boys also has a TV Show now.. produced by the same guys as Preacher.

Also, DCu has Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn, Swamp Thing... and more coming soon..

So hard to tell if this will be good. It looks like the standard teen/young-adult offering you'd see on CW, but with a demon shader. Teens seem to have an insatiable appetite for movies and shows about how hard it is to be a teen... but with powers. Whether it's superheroes, wizards, vampires, or post-apocalyptic freedom fighters, the plot hooks always boil down to the same teen angst. Blech. Maybe this will be different, but the trailers sure don't inspire.

The problem with the CW shows is that they are soap opera. I mean they are LITERALLY soap operas. Just a modern version. Arrow has more in common with Day of Our Lives than an actual show, like say Jack Ryan.

Here is an cut from a Arrow episode I recorded out of shock when I tuned in one day to "check out if the show still sucked"... I mean wtf is this... this is pure soap opera... returning from the dead, commas, marriages, plotting I mean it is crazy bad.

As for titans... well if they avoid the soap opera stuff and try to make an it an actual normal story I think it could be good. Personally I really like darker stuff. I would rather a show be violent and gory than like the Flash or w/e. The biggest problem with the trailer is that Starfire seems to be shooting fire instead of green lazer stuff.. I mean her powers look all wrong.

I mean..90% of shows on now are Soap Operas. Even WWE is a Soap Opera. Only thing separating them from Days of our Lives is the action.

Haha, yeah, that's pretty awful. It's indistinguishable from a daytime soap, except for the lighting maybe. I tried to start Arrow and lost interest after maybe three episodes. At the time, I chalked it up to the fact that I didn't really care about the comic book character.

The Flash is one of my childhood faves though so I tried to make a real commitment to watching it. I made it through a few seasons mostly because I liked the special effects, but eventually got so fed up with the angst that I swore I'd never watch another episode. Take any given 45 min episode and it's almost certainly: 5 min to build some impossible piece of otherworld technology, 10 min spent meeting and defeating the villain du jour, and the other 30 minutes are the characters talking about their feelings in the sappiest way imaginable. Just insufferable.

I like the dark stuff too. But I've come around to accept that for any show in this genre, it comes down to acting, acting, acting. Good acting can bring a story to life and give it depth, even if it's not especially great writing. Bad acting can take any story to one level below Adam West and Burt Ward. Shouldn't take long to see which it is.

i want a mature, violent captain marvel film, i understand why they took this route but it sucks to see it be so cheesy
That's what the character is though, the only time I can remember him being involved with heavy stuff was Kingdom Come and he was still a boy scout in that. His catch phrase is "Holy Moly!", he has a catch phrase!

Personally, I think it looks great. Seems to be adapting aspects of New 52 Shazam which was my favorite thing with him in the comics.

This was a well-written, balanced review of the new Titans show (no spoilers). It strikes a tone of cautious optimism, which I think is about the right place to be.

The first episode premieres tomorrow. Anyone decide to take the plunge and subscribe to the DCU service? I'd be curious to hear reactions.

Anyone outside of the US can see it on Netflix, or a US user with a VPN set to England or something. Not sure if netflix is getting it on zero day though. I will not be waiting, I'm sure I can find a copy somehow to try it a few hours after broadcast. If DCu was available in my country I would be subscribed.

Love preacher, but never heard of the boys. I'll check it out though, thanks. Yeah, Lobo looks pretty cool for how he looks and all. Doomsday on Krypton imo is the only live version to get him right as far as from comic page to live screen, I get Smallville had a limited budget so I can give that show a pass and lasted 10 years something no other comic book show has done thus far and BVS well I think we all know about he LOTR DD and TMNT jokes lol.

This season of Gotham doesn't look that bad, but I felt the first few seasons were a bit cheesy and meh at times.

Look at how picky we've become lol. (and not wrongfully so)

We live in an absolute golden age of superhero shows. No way anyone ever though we'd have this much with the level of quality we have. Arrow, Supergirl, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Punisher, Iron Fist (RIP), Defenders, Teen Titans, Gotham, Preacher, Gifted, Runaways, Agents of Shield.

(And thats not listing the animated stuff.) All have varying levels of quality, sure, but i think almost ALL are worth watching, and not a waste of time you'd regret spending.

Looks good, imo. Defiantly going to try this out. WB has had a few false starts, but with luck they can get the DCu up and running with this one. DC has infinity better characters to work with then Marvel (baring a few standouts at marvel) so if they can just get it to work it is party time for comic fans in the theatre.

Also WB has fucked up a lot of things, but one thing they always excelled at is the music. The music in this trailer is epic level awesome overdrive.
