What's new

Is now the time to try a stick or hitbox?

@Rickyraws did you end up going the hitbox route? I'm thinking about making the jump as well, curious to see how this saga unfolded.
One of my minions went out and got me a stick so while I was seriously considering a hitbox, I ended up not getting one.

YET. IJ2 may change that.

I see I see. I'm 99 percent sure imma take the plunge. Have you seen an improvement going from pad to stick?

I'm hitbox all the way. I used a keyboard remapped to act like a hitbox for a day, and decided that even though theres a learning curve at first, this was the way to go for me. They were out of stock at the time, but i am adventurous and like that sort of thing, so i built one. Used tek innovations case w hitbox layout [obviously] sanwa buttons, and brooks ps4 pcb. I absolutely love the feeling of precision i get. I undersrand its all preferance, but i felt like i was constantly mashing the pad with my thumb, and with hitbox its so apparent when i mess up and easy to diagnose. I play all fighters on it now.

I want to get one now lol more precise inputs sounds like it'll keep me motivated more than anything. The only thing is, is there someone with sausage fingers in here that uses hitbox? Does it work well with fat fingers?

It’s like an arcade stick with a different button for each finger so I can’t imagine how that would be an issue.

You guys have me thinking seriously about getting a hitbox but I'm on the fence. I know ill have the finger dexterity considering I've played a number of pc games, arcade and I happen to be a retired veteran of gh/rb. I have rhythm with my left hand so I think it'll help movement.

The only thing is there might be a chance I like stick more, is there anyway to test this without blowing 200 on one controller?

Hori and Qanba have mini sticks that's from $80-$40 bucks you can try. But they are not going to have the quality and durability of a higher end stick.

Yep that’s about the only thing I can think of, other than attending a major and seeing if hitbox has a both up and you can have a spin on someone else’s stick.

As a hitbox player tho, I think it’s amazing and the best way to play, especially nrs games. I love it and haven’t touched my pad since I got it.

I might just buy it. Missed my chance to test at final round unfortunately. What about gamestop, don't they have stations set up?
