Discussion Final MKXL Tier List (post yours!)

Same here. I am a little perturbed at how quickly "MK" fans leave MKX for another game, when it is still a perfectly viable game. I've been playing it a lot lately and I love it just as much as I did back in 2015. With such a big and varied roster, out of which I've only really explored 3-4 characters, there is so much replay value left. Just started practicing with Kenshi yesterday, for example. Also, I am happy to see there is still plenty of competition left on PSN.
Would you consider practice session with me, iam just learning mk, have never played a fighting game, and would like to practice with someone and learn to improve, if not I understand

Oh absolutely. 100 variations ! That's a hell lot of stuff to explore. And IMO the latest patch left MKX in a pretty good state. People still play games like KOF 98 and Samurai Showdown 2 to this day. And there's Smash Bros Melee as well which has big community even now, 16 years after release. Compared to those games MKX is still a brand new game. I'll play some Injustice 2 if it comes out on PC but MKX is here to stay. I aint quittin.
Oh i forgot about variations. Yea, when I say 3-4 characters that I am familiar so far, i really mean Raiden's three variations (of course), Grand Master Sub-Zero, Drunken Fist Bo Rai Cho, and the Sonya variation with the grenades. So much left lol

I can, but I have no mic so it'd be difficult. I am always up for some games though. PM me if interested.

Great, I just want you to know that I am in the early stages of learning this game, so do not expect me to play like you hi tier players, because iam not, I do realize it will take a long time to become a fair player, I want to learn the neutral game stragedy, I also need to practice/play against humans, to get over the phase of looking like a scrub, iam a scrub but I have been playing this game for sometime now, and beginning to get frame data and applying it, do you have a mic

Yea I have a mic. I can totally teach you the fundamentals. We can go over basic combos, how to read frame data, how to punish common moves such as Sub Zeros slide, Scorpions Teleport, Ermacs soul ball, Raidens superman, Mileenas ball roll and Kung Laos dive and spin.

I'm basically down to teach you whatever you want.

My mains are Ermac, Quan, and Ferra Torr.
I'm also decent with Scorpion, Sub-zero, Jason, and Goro.

It's been a while since I've played this game, but why is Jason so high? iirc he was pretty weak way back when so idk what I missed that made him so good.

I forget the buffs he got but it definitely made him much better

I don't really remember if he got any buffs in the October '16 patch but removal of armored launchers may have helped him indirectly. Unstoppable Jason certainly did show up in a few tournament finals.

One of my favorite NRS vids, Reo was inspired. Shit was hilarious, the part where it says "Run!" with the zoom on Bo' Rai Cho, the red screen of Dance Dance Revolution, the d1 block infinite Jason had against Liu Kang and Tremor that was in the game for months.... Wait, that last part wasn't funny

Where did you find the complete notes? It's surprisingly hard to because it seems they've removed the original posts of them on the WB site.

I appreciate the response but this doesn't help me much.
Bruh just think about Jason in the final meta of Mkx. Moronically good mids, tick throws for days, 33/33/33 mixups, ridiculous plus frames, armor options for everything, 6f d1, retarded d2, and let's not even talk about the red screen/low health dammy or buff/health chains...

It is better this way
I’m torn on variations honestly. There are characters where I think it’s awesome and then a lot of characters where it highlights how bad the system is.

For characters like Reptile, Takeda, Cassie Cage, or Ermac who have a very solid variationless moveset, they can add variety in variations and the system adds a lot of fun and depth to those characters.

On the flip side you have characters like Sub-Zero, Predator, Triborg, Erron Black, and Ferra/Torr who all have a variation with really strong tools (tools that come from the variation, not the base character), so because of this, the base character has to be dumbed down to compensate so the character feels incomplete at times.

I’m not saying a Sub-Zero type character is necessarily worse than a Reptile type, just more polarizing, less fun, and more imbalanced.

I like variations, it gives everyone the chance to play their favorite characters. Besides it's not that hard to make tier lists.
if all of those moves were combined in one char it would be so epicly deep in playstyle, you could be a gm style sub while i prefer the unbreakable moves etc

MKX characters already were explosive by themselves. Add even more moves and the offensive would be closer to Marvel vs Capcom than actually Mortal Kombat.
