I'm not a keyboard a warrior, and I truly think you guys also need to ask yourself the same question regarding discussions involving either you, I've already did my thinking about this.

However I also hope this thing won't return again :)

Is this the guy that trash talked the stance switch button?. That button is important for many things in MKX and MK9.
Erm... It's absolutely valid opinion if someone thinks those inconsistencies you've brought as examples of what stance switch is a solution to shouldn't be a thing in the first place.

I would only ask to decrease the recovery and add more low invincibility for the stance switch button in the next mortal kombat game. That would be so awesome to see.
I think there's no low invincibility, there's just some frames where a character would take a step back with forward leg, but before another one takes its place, so shit whiffs.

So it's basically footsies, except that before I2 movement in NRS games was not supporting those maneuvers on a regular basis, so stuff like that had to be invented. Now that NRS does away with slow acceleration and brings us "explosive first step" instead, we may end up not needing those crutches.

I'm pretty sure everything is 3D in NRS games, and they just make it 2D but not changing the "camera" position. The character model contains the hurtbox itself, they're not separate. I think in SFV and the other games the hurtbox just tracks the character model but it's not built in it.

There are PC hacks you can install in all NRS games since MK9 that makes you control the camera position and you get to see everything in 3D. I don't think that's possible in other FGs (not as in the tool isn't available, but the game engine itself doesn't allow that).

And that's why I think we'll never get a hitbox/hurtbox viewer like other games have. Because it's in 3D and you just can't draw a box to show the hurt/attacking areas.
I think there are some camera mods for SF5, but I haven't seen mods adding camera panning. There are some that remove it though...

Anyway, what I was getting at is while I understand why things work in NRS game the way they do, I still question them insisting on keeping doing what they do with hitboxes.

Well, at least they can eventually refine their process enough that results don't really cause issues, I think.

He's just being too critical. Nothing is perfect and if he hadn't spent hours trying to bring out the flaws in the nrs games, some wouldn't have noticed. All I know is nrs games have one of the best animation that I've ever seen. And I don't think there is a character select screen that beats mkxl's, talk less of the character movements and all. This is nrs and they're sticking to their origins. Animation ducks my a**

I could say a lot more than I will, but I'll try to keep it brief.

NRS games have their animation flaws and I'm pretty sure we know what the most common faults are. I'm looking at you, defeated opponent who gets back up only to fall down again!
Nothing's perfect and the stance switch button makes me scratch my head too.

That said, it's incredibly narrow-minded to judge something entirely based on a single facet of its entertainment value—in this case, animation. Because honestly, the games to which Sugar Punch is comparing Injustice aren't perfect in there own rights either.

Forget single player offline experiences, forget gameplay, sound design, character design, an all-star VO cast, player customization, and the rest. No, this game isn't worth it because the animation sucks.

I think @Braindead pointed out already that the animation issues are due to the 3D hitboxes operating on a 2D space, and that's absolutely true. But I don't think it kills the experience entirely. I don't even think it puts a dent in the experience. Anyone who plays Injustice 2 at this point doesn't really care about the way Wonder Woman's s2 looks, or the fact that Hellboy's f3 doesn't project his center of mass an entire step.

I think we play it because it's fun. Because we like superheroes. Because the guys who made Mortal Kombat thought it was worth the time, effort, and money to make this and polish it as well as they did.

Could you imagination a boxer complaining about a fight because he couldn't anticipate his opponent's jabs.

I feel like most of you are just plain offended by Abi.torials criticism, granted, he sounds a bit too harsh, but its only because he legit wants to NRS improve in that one department they obviously suck at. Its tough love, Its healthy. It only means we get even a better product in the future.

it was a comment regarding the new video which i fully agree. this has nothing to do with flamebaiting. yes, imo darkside looks like shit and he moves around like shit.

It wasn't for that. Just because you get an infraction on a particular day doesn't mean it was for something from that day itself. It could be for something from before.

I agree with this. When I clicked on the video I was expecting some rambling on and just full-tilted complaining, which it DID seem like to be at the start (first video of his I watched, but I know of him), but he made his points good and did mention why he thought the game was good. I agreed a lot with some of the S3, like Starfire's and Supergirl's. They do look pretty goofy the more you look at them, especially since they don't look like they'd do anything.

I know I’m in the vast minority here but I would fucking love to see a 2D MK game with comic book style graphics (just with over the top, shit-tons of blood, guts and gore, of course). I thought the MKX comics were dope and that art style would lend itself well to a revamp of the franchise where they could actually finally animate shit really well like DBFZ did.

I think the animation looks fine, I mean at least I'm not going to get a seizure or migraine when playing NRS games or Smash lol. Besides, I prefer games where characters actually look proportionate to the rest of their bodies not with gigantic heads, hands or feet etc

LMAO@ that ranter vid...I stopped taking that guy seriously once he called Erron blacks gun "baby guns" and who cares about silhouettes? I'd like to ask that guy, can you find me one person who has avatars based off a Injustice or MK silhouette? Exactly lol. That's just as dumb a complaint if not worse than the people who griped about Flash's suit being too tight in the first game. I think this guy doesn't know much about CC clearly, he is attached to his gun because he built it and hence "captain cold". I think this guy i that video should audition for "Gaming Sins or Everything wrong with" you know one of those ranting, hating channels that try to be funny but really aren't.
