Tekken 7 General Discussion Thread - OP Updated With All Tekken Info

Terrible times breed terrible things, my lord.
Speaking of input lag and such, I have a question that only the experts would understand, so colour me a bit ignorant about this.

Why haven't they found a way to reduce the input lag to 1ms? That hard?
I'm not sure it can drop below 4 frames for most games I've heard of lower but not so much in fighters due to many factors like the unreal engine, servers, connection issues even how the game is made because it takes just as much power or frame rates to create and move characters then have them interact in game also adds frame rates aswell.

I kinda learned this shit in college learning programming The best way my professor told me was looking through people walking underwater and seeing how their movements are slowed down then watching it with your naked eyes again but realizing that, that movement can't be made quicker because that's as fast as the movement permits it.

Something like that but don't quote me 100% because this taught to me 15 years ago and I ended up being a truck driver lol.

It's all so very confusing.
This will sap the PC playerbase even more, but ultimately that's for the best as this will totally consolidate the player base onto a single platform. I'll just have to buy it on PS4 asap.

Also just random thought.. I wish to shit that Lee's combos were easier. Those b2 loops are way way harder than they look in combos. I'd replace Kat with Lee if I could do his combos. Oddly, I can do his just frame stuff without a ton of trouble.

Miguel is a fucking beast though, he's going to be a go-to. Damn he's fun. And brutal.

Ugh....i just might have to get up online today. So the online was the only thing that was fixed in the patch? Or was other stuff included?

I have a Tekken 7 tournament tomorrow, there is going to be a lot of demons out there.

I do not consider myself the best Tekken player and i'm definitely not, so anything can happen tomorrow.

International competition to be present in the event, nactional TV its going to cover, tomorrow its going to be tough as nails.

Nodalls just tested the lag on XBONE is bigger than PS4, a whole lot fucking bigger 105ms to be precise

RIP
Took this off of Twitter just now.

What I was talking about earlier in my rant about connections and how gamers if they take it seriously, how they should learn to invest on how to properly set up their consoles, connections, routers, port forwarding ect. ANNEX WI-FI!!!

Also the noodalls PS4 numbers.

Compared to patch 1.09 in November

It's a big difference. In terms of online play this should make life easier for most players.

Now on xbox

It's not bad. 1 frame difference isn't that big of a deal but I'm finally getting on the Leftbox to try out Tekken so I'm prepared to eat crow if it's not up to par.

PC should be fine with or without V-synic on or off. Even though there is new life for tekken on PS4 and now we can finally discuss other issues in the game.

Like cross play... Looking at you Sony.

Good luck. But you main Jin so you should be fine.
That's exactly why man, Jin is cursed and he can't win tournament, there is a good amount of dirt in this game.

But i played some sets with my sparring partner, sometimes it was tough but fundamentals and reactions were finally paying off.

It will be a matter of how the competition its used to spaced game, i know my training partner can we have a pretty much similar game, but the others is what i'm curious about.

One of them played JDCR and TMM he lost against both, but he is used to that kinda play you know?

I wonder why you don't see more Miguel.. not just at s tournament level, but in general. He seems very strong - several + ob moves and nice mids, good CH tools to enforce those frames, decent tracking, high mobility (you wouldn't think it looking at him but he's fast and has a great back dash), quite safe, plays well from about any range, he's simple AND complex (simple shit to win, but his game gets deeper with SAV stuff) good keep out and good get in and his execution is pretty straight forward. He has some fiddly SSR stuff off ch b1 and a couple other things,. But it's easy as pie.

Really really liking him. Katarina feels fun and fluid but a little generic, Miguel has a strong personality to how he plays, and, again, dude is brutal

Took Miguel online for a short session before I pass out from sleep deprivation..

Jin, Shaheen and kazuya players, played a ft3 with all three.. I lost the first game to all three, and won the next two. Dropping combos like it's my job, forgetting where and what my extensions were off various pokes, utterly forgetting wtf to do in SAV, but when in doubt, backdash cancel like a bitch, create a little space and start spamming db1 into it's little, non-charged combo until they start to run in and block low, then mids for days. I could not pick up a damn CH f2 or b1 for shit. Still, first time I've taken him online, I'll take it.

A win is a win! As long as u learn how to improve. I finally took my Eddy online and OH MY SWEET GURKENS! I had 2 horrible laggy matches that were complete utter shit, one against Jin and the other against Kazumi spamming the damn tiger. Fuck those matches

Anyways, for the most part, I wont most of my sets against multiple opponents to the point they did NOT want another set. Murdered Heiachi ending in a PERFECT, murdered a weak ass Bryan Fury 3 straight, and had 2 really good sets against a Yoshimitzu and Law. Both of those matches i lost a full set, but came back wining 2 sets and ended the night with that :)

I wanted to upload very quickly to show for today, but time was not on my side as i had to head work where im at now....WOMP!

At some point during TTT2's life span people talked a lot about how Miguel is terrible against Capos, and by that implication, also bad against Xiayou and maybe Leo. Slips or some other double Capo player beat NYC Fab in a tournament Fab was supposed to take free and that started the conversation. I think later Fab admitted that he didn't know much about Capos at the time, but that label on Miguel as a character stuck ever since.

I am actually curious as to what mids Miguel has that hit Eddy out of RLX or Xiayou out of AOP and Cali roll, as well as Leo's BOK.

Lost to the best tekken player we had, some tournament seeding went wrong matched him against me in my first match.

On losers brackets i won every single one who challenged me gotting into top 8, where i lost to Smith which plays against me regularly, he picked Lars btw, its been a while since i've seen that MU, should've picked Claudio to counter it.

But that's life.

International competition are damn, strong, but we're still better, its officially confirmed that our scene has players with international level caliber of some sorts, not for winning events yet, but to get the experience and go far enough to actually mean something we do.

One of the players who faced JCDR was here, he won smith, but then he took his revenge and eliminated him.

The other foreign player got destroyed by Albert's Asuka, 3-0 in tournament, he pretty much lost to everyone of my team, i won against him 4-1.

Interesting question. Db2 is slow, but id imagine it would pick them up and out.. I'll have to look through his stuff and see. B3 - I think that's the input, his woohoo! flip, again, slow but id imagine it would work. I'll see what I can find.

Haven't played any today really. Messed with Katarina a little, but I'm not entirely convinced I'll keep her now. She's awesome and all, but feels a little generic.

Lili would be amazing but I spent some time with get combo routes earlier just messing around and f2,3 into ff3 is tedious as HELL to connect, unless there's a trick to the timing or angle or whatever.. uf3 df2 f2,3 ff3~f3+4 s! Ff3~1,2 (or 2,1, I forget) I could not land. Dropping the df2 helped but it was still extremely inconsistent for me.
