Only thing I dislike about Wotg is wifi ban literally that cuts about 80% of competition out! Most people can't get wired because of very good reasons! I've seen better wifi connection than wired connections to but it's only people who know jack squat about connection that will say "wired master race" when connection deals mostly with 3 things! 1. Compatibility
2. Stability
3. Distance
Both players could be wired and experience terrible connection or spiky connection! But two wifi users could experience stellar connection. This ban baffles me as I can point out some people who "are nrs pros" who every time they catch a L blame it on wifi.

This issue happened the past weekend also with my teammate BasicS where he was accused of using wifi because him & sylverrye had "laggy connection" in rye words but another one of BasicS opponents said there connection was amazing at a steady 50-55ms ... with the wifi ban & Basics proving to be wired this is a prime example of the 3 reason why you'll experience "below average connection"
Which is why ion see the point in why wifi was banned. But then I saw the way rye was reacting and realized why the admins decided to ban wifi! Because they don't want to hear winning.

Are you not entertained!?
Sorry, can't do that. It's, like, 3 am in my region when it's live. But my soul is with you. Great tournament and commentary, wouldn't want it gone.

interest is there, the youtube uploaders of wotg regularly get ten thousand views. i personally cant watch it on stream me because of euro time zone. and i agree that this is way too less advertised on tym, the competition is barely worse than any major

You inspire no fear.
Change the timeslot to one that allows EU'ers to watch and possibly open up the tournament to EU players. There, now you have a whole region's worth of interest and viewers.

I'm sure most EU'ers like myself will watch the archive when they can, but if it's live viewership you want, you won't get it with the current timeslot. Sorry, but there's no way I'm staying up until 3-4am to watch, then even later than that for top 8.

I only realize War has been on by occasionally going to the stream archive to check, never see anything about it.

Too bad it switched on sunday some time ago. European folks like me can't really watch it now. I can't stay that late on night before work.

@South like 300 people signed up even with the wifi ban. That's not a lot less, or maybe that's even the same as last season. 80% being cut off doesn't really make sense when the numbers are the same.

What is the good reason for someone not being able to play on wired? $5? If you own a ps4, ps plus, the game, the bill is paid for the internet, etc, why would buying a cable be too much? I understand that sometimes people need the cord to run through the floor, or something, but again, that's far, far less expensive than anything you've already bought to play.

Most humble shit talker ever!!!
That's sad to see because of time zones it makes it really difficult.

But ill try.

Also huge thumbs up for the wifi ban ballsy move! But that's not affecting the viewers lol it's not players they're having an issue with it's viewers

I've watched every broadcast of theirs I could for months. Aquaman's Echo impersonation this week was the highlight of my night.

Maybe he meant an 80% reduction in people who fraud out wins due to their inconsistent wi-fi being absent from the event?

On your second point you're spot on. I've helped wire an entire house for ethernet and as long as you aren't a complete idiot around tools it's neither a difficult nor an expensive proposition. I understand that's only really an option if one owns ones living space. That said, I rent right now and I've still made sure that my connection is wired (wi-fi is also disabled due to concerns about people trying to leach off of me).

Not surprised to hear this. He's got a habit of making excuses when he loses to "unknowns". I played Basics right before that match and got mopped. Connection was fine though.

Nah I was being sarcastic with the 80% and for me for example because I live at my moms I don't think she'll want me to have a cord running through the house from downstairs to upstairs through all rooms of the house. It's just something she doesn't allow. It's not the money part that restrains me for being wired. But I also see your point some people also just don't wanna pay.

Yeah you didn't read any of my post so the next paragraph you wrote is not about to be read

Exactly even though you lost you still humble about it & keep it moving. Your second person to say his connection was fine.

I did make an attempt to decipher your original post. I disregarded the part about a top player accusing someone else of using wi-fi because that should be a binary thing. Either the other person has the indicator that they're on wi-fi or they don't as I don't know of any way to fool the system as it currently exists. If Injustice 2 on PC becomes more of a thing this will be an issue but at the moment it should not be.

Otherwise you raise three issues regarding connection quality in 1. Compatibility, 2. Stability, 3. Distance. It would be nice if NRS would allow for (among other things) more precise region filtering to control better for #3. It is #2 were wi-fi will most consistently fails. There really isn't a way around that. It's also really easy to manipulate so even if one of the reasons for the TOs excluding wi-fi users is to reduce the amount of bitching coming their way I'd be willing to bet that the main reason is to try to ensure the integrity of their event to the greatest extent possible.

Edit: Also, I'm curious what your PSN is.
