I'm having some problems with Cutthroat's midscreen meterless combos.
The combo I've been practicing is F212, F212, F4 BF3, for 29% damage. While playing offline I can connect it about 50% of the time. Sometimes I input F4 too early and am left with just 20% damage, and sometimes BF2 doesn't connect, which leaves me in the other side of the screen. I have practiced this *a lot*, and I still can't get this all the time, and I don't seem to be improving very much. Doing this online is a huge problem: I think I'm able to connect this combo only about 10% of the times online. I'm thinking about just giving up on this combo: its timing is too precise for my lazy fingers.
Another combo that I've been trying to practice is F212, F212 RC 112 BF3. This hits for 30% damage. In the beginning I found this was much harder to connect than the combo above, but I'm getting better at it and I'm starting to think it may be easier than the combo above. Still, never managed to land this online (and I tried only a few times).
Another variation of the same combo I've seen is F212, 2 DB1, 112 BF3 for 29%. My problem with this one is that it also seems very timing sensitive. If you miss the strict timing your DB1 will throw your opponent away instead of throwing him right above your head, so your 112 won't connect. This version seems harder than the 2 versions above, so I'm not even practicing it.
Does anybody know any other variation of this combo that's easy to execute and does a lot of damage? I've seen some videos doing F212 NJP RC something, but I haven't even tried them.
Anyway, I'm starting to think it may not be a good idea to try these 29+% combos online, they seem way too hard in timing. So I've been experimenting with things like F212, 32 BF3 (requires some waiting before inputting 32) or F212 112 BF3 (for some reason the 2 from 112 almost always whiffs, I find this hard to connect), or some others like F212, F4 BF3. I really wanted something that gives me about 24-25% damage and is SUPER easy to execute online. Any suggestions here?
To sum up: from the 29%+ combos, which variation do you use? What's your "default midscreen meterless combo" for online matches? What's your general strategy for midscreen combos with CT? What do you find easier/safer to execute?
As a note, I always do punishes with a simple 112 BF3 because 112 starts much faster. I also accept recommendations here.
As another note, yes the combos that use meter are much much easier to execute. exDB1 or exDD3 enables us to connect anything into anything, making combos simpler. But anyway, that's a reality for any character in this game.
