I will leave my seal on you!
Didn't know if I should post this at the Match Video thread, but I just wanted to share with you guys those 3 sets I had at the ESL Thursday Cup last night. That was the first time I made it to the top 3 at the ESL, and I did all of that with my Noxious Reptile alone. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Update: Wasn't sure to open a new thread for this, so I decided to put it here.

This is me playing Mortal Kombat X for the first time in a while, celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the my favorite Fighting Game franchise. This one has everything: Fatalities, Brutalities, Flawlesses, Quitalities and even an awesome match at the end with an awesome Clutch finish. Enjoy! :)

02:05 - Vs. Fantastic Fidget (Buzz Saw Kung Lao)
03:52 - Vs. Damidi (1st Match, Shirai Ryu Takeda)
06:04 - Vs. Damidi (2nd Match, Dragon Breath Bo' Rai Cho) - OPPONENT GIVING UP!
08:17 - Vs. Valalepi (Stunt Double Johnny Cage)
10:06 - Vs. KS Svetlana (Slasher Jason Voorhees)
12:36 - Vs. Haker Eroor (Smoke Triborg) - QUITALITY FINISH!

This was refreshing to watch. I love how differently we all play Reptile. My Reptile is nothing like yours, Cossners, Milkys, or DatProStunners. I feel like many other characters in the game don't have much variety in strategy or gameplay when it comes to the competitive scene.

I don't feel I'm articulating very well xD I hope you follow.

I'm going to try tonight playing with a more oppressive acid spit like you did vs Shinnok in the first video. It seemed effective. Do you intentionally EX slide beneath their jump ins to resume your acid spit pressure or is it a happy accident? Never considered doing that before.

Dude, be honest for a sec, this is special olympics reptile. His biggest combos are f412 db2, f412 db4, b2 f21 1+3. He'd get slaughtered against anyone legit.

I don't think his Reptile is as good as mine or some others in the community but it's not a competition. I've only watched the first video he posted so far, added the others to my watch later and I'll watch them down the line. The post is also over a year old so he has presumably gotten better.

If he had proclaimed himself the best or otherwise boasted in different ways I'd understand you tearing him down some. Is this guy some sort of dick? Why make fun of his effort?

Sometimes tournament jitters or an unexpected hit leads to unoptimal combos as well. Try not to assume the worst of the guy.

You said it bro, Reptile is such a versatile character that you can play him in anyway you want, he was like that in all of the games he was a part of.

To answer your question, no I didn't intentionally used the EX Slide to escape the Jump ins, if I would wanna escape the jump ins I would've used either regular Slide or Reptilian Dash which you can see me also doing on some occasions. I just used the EX Slide when I thought I would get the hit and I didn't got the right read, I just took advantage of the situation as it does take Reptile away from getting hit, so going back to do other stuff after that was sorts of a backup plan, while also going for the main gameplan at the same time.

Also regarding the Acid Spit, I've learned that from Happy Pow, he coached me while practicing to Yuzu Cup 2 (which took place a month and half before I this ESL tourney) and on the way he taught me how to deal with the Impostor Shinnok MU. And yes, that's really helpful, I've always had difficulties with this MU until I've learned this from him.

I've indeed never considered myself to be as good as the pro Reptile players like Happy Pow or Milky, nor that I try to compete with other Reptile players, as it's indeed not a competition, not back then when with this tourney and not even right now, but I am a good Reptile player in general and I did got better since then, and of course I'm gonna improve even more. And as for my combos, like Syzoth said, everyone plays Reptile differently, and while most MKX Reptile players are more Rushdown oriented, I'm more of a Zoning and pace control oriented Reptile who also really like going with high mobility, and I go to the Rushdown when I really need to (in fact you can clearly see that in the 2nd video), and I do have a couple of longer combos in my arsenal, I just use them when it's necessary.
